Title: Tekken 4 vs Virtua Fighter 4
Post by: square_marker on March 18, 2002, 06:17:48 PM: Well i believe from what i have heard that VF4 is great. I\'ve been a Tekken Fan although. What do you guys think.

But from what I\'ve read, I\'m more interested in Virtua Fighter 4.

but tekken 4 is what i have been playing for months now and i love it - although i still prefer the old format of tekken tag

Post by: IronFist on March 19, 2002, 12:20:57 AM: I voted for Tekken. I\'ve been playing it since Tekken 1, and have loved every minute of it. It is a lot easier to pick up and learn how to play, which means you can invite your non-hardcore friends over and they\'ll want to play it too. And even though it\'s easy to pick up and learn, it has tons of depth. It also has the storyline and CG endings, which doesn\'t count for too much, but it does make Tekken 4\'s ranking (IMO) a little higher. :) Overall, I just think T4 is the better fighter (just barely though :))

Of course I am also looking forward to VF4\'s release this week. I can\'t wait to learn the new fighting system even though it does have such a steep learning curve. :)

Post by: ben_high on March 19, 2002, 06:01:53 AM: I voted for VF4.I\'ve always been a Tekken fan but it looks like VF is gonna take this round.I\'ve watched a very short video of it about 100 times(I\'m not ashamed :) ) and what really stands out is how fluid the animation will appear between 2 experienced players who know how to counter.

Two questions;

What about SC2?

Which of the three will have the hottest chicks?

Post by: DarkchimP on March 20, 2002, 01:32:00 PM: Normally I would go with Tekken 4 but I went to my local arcade for the first time in like 2 years and gave virtua fighter 4 a look and was I pleasently suprised. VF4 just seemed to allow alot more free movement and more fluid gameplay. That\'s what I seemed to get out of it anyways.

Post by: THX on March 21, 2002, 12:28:29 PM: I\'ve played in many Tekken tournaments but I voted for VF4. Ask any of the best tekken players in the nation and they\'ll tell you VF is the deeper game.

Tekken has the potential to be very fun and tricky but when someone decides to play cheap it all goes to hell. The game has more cheese than I care to talk about. The new 3d SS\'ing in T4 is a joke and a menace at the same time. Tekken definitely has the flash which is why it is more popular in the US, but Japan plays much more VF.
