Title: Diablo 2- any good?

I\'m intrested in getting Diablo 2. I played the original and loved it, but I get mixed reactions when I ask about the sequel. So to avoid confusion, I\'ll specify my questions.

1) Is there still a package that comes w/ the 1st game, and the expansion pack for the second? Whats the cost?
2) Does online play require a fee?
3) How many character classes are there?
4) and finally, is Diablo 2 even worth purchasing?

Diablo 2 is MUCH better then the 1st one. Online, it is played through Battlenet (free). The classes u can be is:
Necromancer
Sorcerer
Paladin
Druid (expansion)
Barbarian
Amazon
Assasin (expansion)
The Expansion Lord of Destruction is also worth to purchase.... since u get 2 extra classes, more equipment and a new chapter. The game is also much much bigger then 1st one. Matter of fact, if u liked the 1st, u will like D2 too.

I\'d get D2.  It definitely was worth it to me.  As Agnino said, there are 7 character classes (2 of which are expansion classes), and online play is free.  The game is huge, and with so many character classes to play through it with, it has plenty of value to it.  If you liked the first one, you\'ll love this one.

Yeah I thought that Diablo 2 was excellent,My favourite class was necromancer!!! Just get yourself and army of monsters and let them kick some ass. :)

yeah there is a package you can buy, its like 40 bucks, includes diablo 1, a strat. guide, diablo 2 and diablo 2 expansion pack. great deal you can find it at your local best buy.

and right now the strongest character class is the amazon, although they will be nerfed soon.

there are alot of dupes in the game right now so i dont know how much longer the game will last while being challenging, you can easily obtain dupes, but the game is still much different weapons are much cooler and more powerful, overall yeah i was addicted to it forever, and still kinda am...... yeah 87 sorc useast, you ever wanna duel me, bring it.

in rarely on though so youll have to contact me on these board or some thinglike that.   overall its worth it.

Wow, thats a great deal. Does the strategy guide contain info for both games or just one? I\'m getting it for sure, btw.

1)  Yes, it\'s available at EB, Futureshop, or most major chains.

2) No fee.

3) 5, pre expansion, 7 post, Necromancer, Amazon, Sorceress, Barbarian, Paladin, Assassin (exp), Druid (exp).

4)  Definitely worth purchasing.  Battlenet is fairly lag free, and with closed, you can avoid the blatant cheating that the first diablo suffers from.  There have been dupes, and bugged items, but they\'ve been deleting them all over the past few days.  I\'ve probably spent 2000 hours playing D2.  :)

i believe only for the expansion diablo2 but thats what you want, diablo1 is dead.


yeah i lost social life for a couple monthe cuz of that game..

Same here.  Got my necromancer up to level 80 something.  Then, I suddenly lost interest.  Happened kinda suddenly too.  Still got in a lot of game play before that happened though.

Its one of the best games I have ever played, get it!

I haven\'t played for 6 months now, I think my level 60 Sorceress is rotting away on the US west coast server. The problem is that when I created my character I lived in asia so the west coast server was the fastest for, now I live in europe and if I play on the  west coast server I get tremdous lag. So basically I have to start all over again which Im not going to do
