I bid and won armored core project phantasma
on e-bay and got ripped off.
the game does not work and the seller won\'t give me a refund.
the game looks like it was put in a cd repair machine?(guessing)
it looks like someone sanded the bottom of the disc.
I\'ve never seen a disc like this,
has anyone else?
the sony just says "insert playstation disc" when i try to play.
When i asked for a refund this was his reply:
"I\'m sorry. I don\'t mean to sound like a "thief", I\'m just sticking
to the CONTRACT we both signed on eBay. Me, by selling an item, and
you by bidding on it. I\'m an honest person who knows what he\'s doing
and has seen it all when it comes to this type of E-commerce. So
before you get threatening with me, I STRONGLY suggest you try
another system to see if it works. If it doesn\'t, I\'m sorry, that\'s
life. How do I know you only wanted the game so you can copy it
because you DO have a MOD chip? That makes you sound like a LIAR. ARE
YOU TRYING TO RIP ME OFF AND WASTE MY TIME JUST LIKE A LIAR? Think
about that.
Again, I\'m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you."
Do you belive that crap, by the way does anyone know what the hell is
a MOD chip?
I have no idea what a MOD chip is.
-
he may ahve use dthe gamedoctor on it, other than that he just ripped you off, man im sorry dude you shouldve used paypal
helps when the **** dosent work and such...
paypal is god.
-
I did use paypal !
I already filed a complaint with paypal.
have you had experience with this before?
-
take the disc to somewhere that has a cd repair machine. they fixed my Madden 2002 disc when I thought all was lost. it should only cost 2-3 bucks.
-
Did the seller disclose that the disk was in less than perfect condition on the auction page? Did the auction say something like "sold as-is?" If not, you have a valid complaint, and you can lodge a grievance of some kind with Ebay.
If he did include those kinds of disclaimers in his auction page, then I don\'t see how you\'d have a case. You\'re taking your chances when you buy something through an auction, and the only real security you have is the seller\'s feedback history. Next time decide how much money you\'re willing to risk as a factor of the seller\'s feedback. If you wind up screwed, the only retaliation you have is the negative feedback you leave for the seller. Draft your feedback comment carefully, because you don\'t have very much space.
Can you share a link to the auction page with us?

Horrible feedback time. this guy sounds like a total twat.

if you read my post here: http://www.psx2central.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=19935 you can find out if it is a real PS2 game unless the bottom was Really scratched up bad.

Cored\'s right, if it said "as-is" anywhere in the auction then you\'re screwed. If it didn\'t then he\'s a dead-beat, the scum of society (acutally he is either way :)). Trying to sell people games that don\'t work to make some cash. Then you say it looks like he used a game doctor and he didn\'t state that in the auction. PLUS he sent that whiny a.ss email about not threatening him. If he says he\'s been through this before it\'s probably because he ripped someone off before.
Don\'t take any sh*t from this dirtball, get your money back, file a complaint, and to top it off take it to a place that has a professional resurfacing machine and they\'ll get your game good as new for about $3 (even after it\'s been game doctored).
Can you give us a link for the auction so we can inspect it?

If theres one thing I know for sure... its that there are a ton of worthless jerk-offs in this world.
And my girlfriend wonders why i hate people!?

this is what was on the item page;
Winning bidder to pay $5.00 shipping & handling via Priority USPS. I accept PayPal & USPS Money orders only please. Item will ship after receipt of payment. All sales are final. Any questions are welcome.
so I geuss "all sales are final" is the the same as " as-is"???
and he did mention the game may have been put on a cd repair machine. so I thought it should work if it was repaired.
but he also said that the game worked excellent.
I geuss I learned my lesson.
never buy something from someone unless I know for sure I can return it.
I also e-mailed his other bidders about what happend to me and this was his response:
"I swear to GOD if you e-mail another one of my bidders and start telling your lies again I’m going to go to the authorities."
-
Let him go to the authorities, and then tell them how he ripped you off if they try to do anything. I\'d continue to e-mail his bidders, and tell him you won\'t stop until you get the refund you\'re entitled to.
-
Here is the negative feedback he left for me:
"Unreasonable person.CANT STICK TO AGREEMENTS.Tried to copy software & rip me off "
I filed a complaint with e-bay and paypal.
Not much else I can do.
If I had the money I would take him to court for slander.
-
That guy sounds like a total 100% ass hole. Complain and keep e-mailing his bidders. This guy also sounds paranoid. He thinks everyone that wants to send something back is trying to rip him off. What a jackass. I hate people like this. They shouldn\'t even be allowed on e-bay. PM me with any updates Mag44.
-
Jeez, not just eBay, he shouldn\'t be allowed to live. What good do losers like that do?
Anyway, keep fighting the good fight. He could very well have a winnable case on you for defamation of character, but who gives a ****? It would take a lot of green and time for him to actually go through with it. He might have the time, but how much cash would a guy selling broken games on eBay have? Good luck.
-
You shouldn\'t have emailed his other bidders. You might have shot yourself in the foot by doing that. The description of the item on his auction page didn\'t say anything about the condition of the disk, so you had a very good case against him on that basis. The statement "all sales are final" doesn\'t mean anything.
You should have gone to Ebay, told them that he sold you a defective item without disclosing the condition, and then let them know that he refused to refund you. Let EBAY take action against him. There\'s no reason for you to go vigilante on him.
-
I have filed a complaint with e-bay and paypal.
I only e-mailed 2 of his bidders and I did not bad mouth him.
I just stated the facts so the other 2 bidders would have a "heads up" on the seller.
I just told them that I got a game that did not work and he refused to give a refund.
-
why don\'t you post his name, address, e-mail, and other information here so we can sign him up for fag-e-mail distribution lists and stuff.
-
SUE HIM!

BEST IDEA SO FAR!

Um, if you signed him up for gay porn and that ****, wouldn\'t you have to see a ton of it, too?

Sucks to be you my friend. Never buy anything off Ebay...
-
Wow, I never bought stuff from ebays before. After seeing this, I probably won\'t even bother buying anything from Ebay. It looks like a frustrating place. If I am in your position, I would be pissed too.
-
Ebay.com isn\'t that bad of a place to buy things (though, you won\'t save much most the time). You just need to be a catuious and curious bidder. I mean this in the sense, you need to do your research and know what to look for. The same applies for any online site, or any time you buy anything for that matter.
-
Does his ad say that the game requires a mod-chip? If so then the game is copied and illegit and the seller can be banned if you notify eBay. Also, selling copied games is starting to come under more and more scrutiny. There is an article on msn.com today about a guy in the Bronx whose apartment was just raided by the FBI for suspicion of DVD copying.
However, I have made about a hundred transactions on eBay and have never had any problems. Try buying from people with a lot of good feedback.
-
I took the game to the local video game store and had it repaired for $3.00 .
The game looks brand new BUT still does not work on my playstation.(all of my other games work fine)
I took the game to my sisters house and it works great on hers.(she has the new smaller version of the psx)
Would anyone know why this would happen??
why is it that my older system can\'t read the disc?
-
i didnt read the whole thead to see if this was done
but clean the laser
