Title: Oh the possibilities...
Post by: on March 26, 2002, 11:38:53 AM
My B-day is coming up soon and I dont know wut games to get. I just got the PS2 about 5 weeks ago (For 150 bucks, brand new! Dont ask... Long story). What are some good games? I already have THPS3, Armored Core2, Evergrace (Sux), Fur Fighters (My little brothers), and Spyhunter. I dont really like RPG\'s (Such as the FF series). But I do like action games. I wanted Devil May Cry and Max Payne. Are they any good? How about Half-Life? Wut are some good shoot\'em\'ups? Thnx.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and Grand Theft Auto 3 are the best two games available for it.  You can\'t miss with either of those.

Definatly get Metal Gear Solid 2... I have GTA3, its a good game... But personally, I think its way over hyped. And if you like racing games... Nothing beats GT3. Max Payne is pretty cool... But if you\'ve got a powerfull PC, i\'d recomend getting it for that instead of the PS2... I own the PC version, and have played the PS2 version and it isn\'t as good.

Personally, I\'d have you sell every peice of console equipment that you have - to be replaced with a PC. But, since you\'re not about to do anything of the sort, get:

Virtua Fighter 4.

It\'ll last longer than any of the other titles out there. MGS2 included!

i cant agree with MGS2, but i can with GTA3

MGS2 is a game that you need to have patience for, and LOTS of time on your hands (which is rare because its quite short)..

you obviously like shooters, and fast paced stuff.. this is not for you

but if you like a bit of variety, and are willing to experiment with it, it will pay off

TimeSplitters 2 is out in a few months, keep your eye out

Red Faction is a good shooter, Half life is nice, but you would probably rather play on PC (multiplayer etc.)

Quake 3 has good multiplayer as well

but if you MUST get something good that you are guaranteed to like... TWISTED METAL: BLACK

everything you want..

and IMO its the second best game on the system behind MGS2

Thanks everyone.. One problem though- I can\'t get GTA3 because my mom thinks it\'s some freakishly "terrorist" game. I play it over at my friends, and i know its cool. MGS2 i also play at my friends- which i have beaten it- with his help. GT3 looks good. And I am still having a hard time between Half-Life, Max Payne 2, or another hardcore fps game... Thanks everyone! (DMC is a keeper) Also I play half-life(Counter-strike) on my computer.

Half Life on the PS2 is exactly the same as Half Life on the PC.

Need an idea for a game to get huh? Absolutely no doubt 100% Devil may cry. Everything about this game was brilliant, and you gotta fall in love with Dante\'s alter ego demon form. It\'s short, but it took me 10 hours and there was still a lot more to do that I would have done had I not needed to return it to the video store. The ending is easily among he best I have seen. Do yourself a favour. It\'s worth every cent.
