ooseven, i\'m working on a research paper..

Please post a link to the hardware sales...

As for games...Xbox has a drought right now.  Don\'t expect it to get better until summer or even this fall.  Will it be too late by then, seriously doubt it.  When the library of games gets a little more diverse, an audience is sure to notice.

Don\'t get me wrong, I love my Xbox and all...but it seems MS just isn\'t taking the right steps at the moment.  Major games getting delayed, ridiculous price in Europe, no games tailored for a japanese audience...

For the moment, my PS2 and Xbox are collecting dust...

Also, I just don\'t understand what people find so appealing about GTA3 or State of Emergency...they\'re both no more than rentals IMO.

I think you care about this just a little too much.

Seriously, who cares what console is selling best? Unless you\'re investing in stock of these companies, why do you care so much about the numbers?

I actually do own stock in sony.. 200 shares
someone asked me that question a year ago, so I decided to buy some :)

Overall its done pretty well, i\'m hoping the ps2 helps it even more (now that inital costs are over with)

Took back some money I could have spent on games, but at least i\'ll have some money when i\'m outta college to go towards a house or something. (and I did buy other stocks, not just sony)

Considering a year ago Sony stock was worth around $70 a share and today it closed at $51.10 a share, I am starting to wonder how much truth is in your post.

"Overall its done pretty well"

Also, I dont know many students who can afford to spend $14,000 on stock, but if you can, then congrats.

I don\'t plan on selling it anytime soon, obviously a company needs to put out money to make it, and there have been lots of investment recently. The past few months has fared better, and there are many summer movies that they have planned for release that look like will do very well.

Considering that every company\'s stock took about a $20+ dive around August last year, I\'d say that is good.  Better than my company.  Sony has assets in many different industries.  The value of stock is not in the day-to-day gains or losses, it\'s what you make of it, either retirement, sales, or capital.

yah right  :)  sounds sometwhat like what Sega Fanboys were saying a couple of years ago before Sega pulled out

except that Sega actually had good games  :)

keep telling yourself these things Rikku, they dont always come true..

Give the console a break! In England anyway its only just been launched. Considering its the middle of spring its doing rather well. The PS2 being cheaper will be more attractive to most people at this time.

If it was Christmas when people spend more the figures would be different.

yeah, the gap between xbox and PS2 would be greater

Here\'s the catch though...MS actually has money.  Sega was in the red and couldn\'t afford to keep going or pushing the product.

When they have something worth pushing, I\'m sure they will.  I expect a pretty big media onslaught when they go online this fall.

Being that PS2 only has 4 games worth owning for me (3 now, I got rid of ICO)...I would hope someone else would step in and stick around for a while.

Oh yah, I appreciate you giving me the go ahead to think whatever I want...

Me thinks,

1.) your not even trying to look
2.) you should buy a nice PC beacuse you obviously favor PC games

I\'ve tried MGS2, GTA3, State of Emergency, Wave Rally, Devil May Cry, ICO, Jak and Daxter, Shadow Hearts, Dark Cloud, Twisted Metal Black, Final Fantasy X, Splash Down, Klonoa 2, Tekken...

I own J&D, DMC, and FFX...everything else is no more than a rental IMO.

I spent 300$ on PS2, why wounldn\'t I try to look?

The only games I favor on PC are the Sim games...

Wow, im the ONLY one here that wasn\'t impressed with J and D and several of the othe games that Rikku mentioned, but Im not impressed with ANY of the so called AAA titles on Xbox(yet)  Im waiting for a game that doesn\'t use the blur effect all the time.

The blur in wreckless is god awful, i can\'t pick up the game with out having to sheild my eyes.

Edit: Im still waiting for some good Xbox games to get. If not, im selling it.

eh?

I wasn\'t trying to make force what i was impressed by on you.  Jeez, some people.  Rikku, Rallisport has blur, Wreckless has it, and even Raw has it. Whats with the blur?  I\'ve noticed it in all those games. I can\'t say i like J and D, since im not really into adventure games, sure, i grew up playing them, but they aren\'t my cup of tea anymore.   Anyways, Im leaving this thread, theres nothing for me to contribute.

Edit: Whats the point in my keeping Xbox?  Should i

[xbox zealot mode] wait til  E3 [xbox zealot]

I can\'t find a SINGLE game worth getting for it man, throw me a few titles worth checking out.  Besides the ones you mentioned.

Quit putting words in my mouth, that I never even said. I said 3 games had blur, not every single game out for Xbox.I said, I can\'t contribute anything to this thread, I just stated what was on my mind.

Im trying to see where you said, that I said that EVERY game has blur, when i clearly didn\'t.

Then get rid of it, what\'s stopping you?

What I like is just that, what I like.  IMO...Halo, Munch, and JSRF are the must-haves.  Sega GT 2002, Unreal Championship, Panzer Dragoon, Brute Force, Project Ego, Duality, Strident are some reasons I\'m keeping mine...

Project Ego, as OOseven said, is One big gimmick, I\'ve read the previews, I was impressed until i read the recent ones.  Sega GT 2K2 looks amazing, but, im hoping they tweak the gameplay, because GT on DC was garbage.  Brute force looks awesome as hell.  Whats Strident?    Panzer Dragoon X is something im looking forward to.

But my main question, what is Strident?  I guess I\'ll keep it til E3, which is a month away.

E3 will make or break Xbox IMO.

Jesus Christ, that is totally inaccurate.

Last time I checked, Xbox had a 100K lead on GCN (not 300K) and there were 5 Xbox games in the top 20.
