Okay,
after reading Ryu\'s thread about Zero Tolerance, I thought I would see what the deal was.
As some people would say, I\'m a former Xbox hater, yes, i bashed the console on an everyday basis back when it was announced. I changed my tune after i saw a few games in motion. I don\'t really hate MS for entering the console industry, I just think that they over estimated themselves, by thinking that Xbox is/was the best thing since sliced bread. I liked mine when I first got it. But lately the games have been crap, according to the reviews, so I haven\'t really tried out any of the new ones due to that. I bought a PSX about 3 years ago, and I was happy with that, so, i stuck by my PSX until PS2 came out, and went on to purchuse that. I can\'t say I\'ve been let down by PS2 at all, where-area\'s Xbox just dissapoints me, I mean, everyone praises Halo. Its a great game, but the frame rate problems gave me headaches everynight(I am not joking.) But anyways, whats with all the hate against Sony, MS, or Nintendo.
Post your LOGICAL reasonings, not just mindless bickering please. I don\'t want to see a thread go to hell.

Well I happen to agree! I don\'t know why theres people who hate the X-Box or people who hate the PS2 etc, I put it down to fanboyism (if such a word exists).

People hate MS, not so much xbox. If you have to ask why you\'re out of touch.
The hate for Sony goes with being #1. Taking heat for either knocking off Sega or dethroning Nintendo. Not living up to the hype is just an excuse as far as I can tell. Faulty products? I won\'t argue with anyone who says so but I, and a few million other people, can\'t relate.
Nintendo is the prince of gaming and also a spoiled brat. Seen as squeezing every penny it can from 3rd parties and consumers alike simply because they can. Being penny wise and pound foolish cost them the crown.
The true haters just don\'t last around here, which is why I think this zero tolerance policy is a joke. We didn\'t need it when the PS2 was getting bashed day after day and we don\'t need it now.
I share Bobs_H surprise at Terry asking this question, Terry being one of the ones accussed of bashing xbox (last week Jon27, not last year)

I haven\'t been too impressed with any of the 3 consoles, other than DOA 3, graphically, of course...

The best gaming I\'ve had this generation is from the DC, if you can include DC with the other 3...
I\'m not saying all or most of the DC games were great but the ones that came out in 2000, right around the time of the JP PS2 launch through Spring 2001, were the very best.
RE: C:V, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Shenmue, PSO were most enjoyable...
However, most games released afterwards, including DC, were rather unappealing.
The last great game I\'ve played, other than Shenmue 2, is Grandia 2. How sad that a game 2 years old is still better than 90% of what companies spew out.

I don\'t see what the big deal is. It\'s people opinions on a console. Its to the person\'s opinion to decide whether a console sucks or not. No wonder I hardly ever come into Console Debate. Same people getting into fights over the same damn crap. I could seriously care less about these "Console wars". I got PS2 because the games are more oriented toward the genre\'s I liked and sequels to games I like (MGS2 and GTA3) along with some kickass games on the side (TimeSplitters (If I ever get it working again) Kinetica, GT3, ect). Just my 2 cents.

Bill Gates beat me up once, then Ken Kutaragi beat him up. That\'s why I choose the PS.2 over teh Xbox. And since Mr.Myamoto just sat there and did nothing I not to fond of the GameCube either.

If you and mm are going to be that way about it, I\'ll say the same and throw in the DC along with the other 3. Last time I thought, WOW! consoles have come along way! was seeing Tomb Raider for the first time over 6 years ago.
The game element will always be a matter of taste. Can\'t say that I share yours

There is no reason to hate ms or sony. Ppl are jealous of Bill gates because the guy has more money than they could ever imagine and they need to get over it.
I could see why ppl would hate nintendo the way they did the developers. But that was a long time ago.

There are some people who believe that because Bill Gates is rich and for the most part, we are not, that is just reason for us to bash him and it is our only reason. However, jealousy is not any reason to bash Bill Gates. If jealousy was the culprit, then Walmart would be recieving just as many bashes as any other person or chain, but the owner does not, even though he is richer than Bill Gates at the moment.
Why do we bash Gates and not the Walmart guy?
Walmart offers us products at rock bottom prices that can\'t go wrong. It\'s available in lots of places nationwide and its a place we don\'t mind shopping at. In contrast, Microsoft offers a mediocre product at a set price full of quality control issues. The problem isn\'t that Bill Gates is rich, the problem is that the products we need (or are forced to use) need to meet standards that we are paying for. Sure, no one is twisting our arm to use office, or windows, but just see how many games out there support other OS\'s or systems as quickly as they do Windows. It\'s a lack of options that keeps me a windows user and it sucks honestly and I don\'t like MS for that. Gates put this policy forward so he gets plenty of slack for it.
Walmart owner says cheap items with lots of quality and variety and he makes it the best chain out there... How can I hate the guy or the company? Contrasts are beautiful. :)

If you don\'t like MS go buy a Mac. Buy nothing from MS and convice others to do the same and put them out of business.
