OK so Im sittin here watchin the cubs game and i think "hey I\'ll change my sig, support the team and what not"

so what happenes? as i click "submit modifications" stupid juan cruz gives up 2 runs in the second... doh!

but seriously i think the cubs should be pretty damn good this year. i think they got a real shot at the NL central maybe even the whole league.

Kerry Wood rocks

whos your team? do they suck?

i bet they do!

Man, you know Im a cubs fan to the bone..even when they suck, just like the bears. Since Kerry is back, I think they have a great shot this year. Remember last year, they didnt do all that bad without him.

Unfortunatly, I can\'t seem to catch any info on chicago sports down here. The only thing I know of was a sox game a day or two ago, score was 3-2 in the 6th or 7th with the sox down. I havent heard a thing since..stupid sportscenter and baseball 2nite :(

I\'m a mets fan, always have been, always will be.  I picked my team when I was too young to understand that the Yankees were better.  Oh well, the Mets have a pretty good team this year.  Brought in Alomar and Vaughn, brought back Cedeno and Burnitz.  That should help to improve the worst offense in baseball from last year.  They definitely have a shot at taking down the Braves and becoming NL East champs.

:o :( :)

Ah ha..thats where reality kicks in :) They did do relatively well last year :) So now only time will tell since the phenom(sp) pitcher is back. Provided he doesnt get injured early in the season....yet again...

Well, the Mets, after a late season run, ended up finishing only about 9 games back in their division, and they improved more over the offseason than anyone.  They really had a chance to get back into the race last year.  I think their offseason improvements could more than make up for those nine games.

he looked good last night...

still needs to get his pitch counts down a little, he only made it to the 5th but i think that might have something to do with how cold it was last night.

well the beloved cubbies lost 3-1 tonight to the reds.

juan cruz doesnt impress me, i dont care what peter gammons thinks.

you know now that i sit and look at the box scores cruz actually had a pretty good game...

Damn right, Go GIANTS!  Barry Bonds have been slugging them.  Hit a 2-run shot to win the game today after sweeping the Dodgers in the opener.  4 Wins - 0 Losses.  What a great way to start it all off. :)

Heck ya, he has more runs than outs this season :D I\'m not really a Giants fan, I\'ve just been a fan of Bond\'s for a while.

Go Mets
9-3 and 11-2 thrashings of the Braves.  You see the ninth inning of that last one?  Smoltz just got shelled.  9 run inning.  20-5 cobined in two games against the Braves.  That say anything about their chances at the division?

What...other Cubs fans? HURRAH!

Yeah, the cubs have all the potential to make it to the Playoffs, maybe even go deep, but when that potential is injured, it kind of hurts. Right now, we got Alex Gonzalez, the new shortstop, batting 5 hole for the injured Alou, and it\'s not exactly paying dividends.

3 runs in the last 3 games, 2 of them by Sosa and Sosa alone. 1 -4, can\'t take out the Pirates for their life...Lieber needs to step it up tommorow, and at least salvage 1 game of the horrid opening of the season.

They\'ll get it goin\', though...Once Sosa, McGriff, and Alou start gettin\' hot, the rest of the NL better watch out, and once Prior comes around, and Cruz can go more than 5 innings, the Cubs are going to have one of the best Starting Rotations in the National League, and compete with the rest of the Major Leagues.

Cubs for ever...woo. This is the year, it\'s just gotta happen :)

See Yuz.

And the Giants continue their winning streak.  5-0  Very nice.  Let\'s hope the momentum keeps on rolling. (we all know how pointless these games are if they lose 150 in a row, hehe)

Speaking of good starts, did anyone else see Ishii tonight?  5 2/3 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 10 Ks.  That\'s one hell of a start if you ask me.
