Title: I got Biohazard (Resident Evil) on the GC
Post by: Animal Mother on April 10, 2002, 04:43:43 PM
I just got my import copy of Biohazard (Resident Evil for those who don\'t know) On the Gamecube. I may not be good at writing impressions, but this game is gorgeous and awsome. It\'s scary, fun, and hard. You hear lightning crashing outside, flashing in the windows, its just... beatiful. (I\'m typing this as I play) It comes out in the american market in less than a month. I for one reccomend this to all that have a game cube, and do not let the console barrier stop you.

Chrono: If you don\'t have a PC, then the Xbox might be more favorable than the GCN.. but otherwise.. duh! :)

Xbox is a great console, but it\'s trying to be like PS2.. while PS2 is being PS2 and GCN is being GCN. You can call it a demographic difference if you like, that works.. although I think it\'s really just a different attitude.

As for Resident Evil, I have it pre-ordered and I\'m eagerly anticipating it. :)

I think all the consoles have their own upsides. I don\'t think the X-Box is trying to be like the PS2.

The one which is least appealing for me is that Gamecube.

Id much rather have a NGC than a Xbox, Halo is coming to PC so theres no point getting Xbox sinse thats all its got going for it. Oh and the NGC is allot cheaper so thats gonna help its sales.

I use to be a big RE fan but I could give a rats about it now. Especaially only on gamecube which I don\'t have and I don\'t like RE enough to buy a gamecube for it. I hope the game is good though.

think you missed his point  :shy:

he meants targetting the same audience, trying to beat sony with sony\'s crowd, and to dothis it will have to have th same type of games as the PSX and PS2 as opposed to what Nintendo is putting out etc. etc.  Therefore, its trying to be like the PS2  :)  whereas Nintendo, are just bein plain arrogant, i dont think they have made a concious decision to really support a different market.. they would still do just as well (most likely better) if they catered to Sony\'s audience as well

and my friend is getting a GC, so ill definately make him buy this

its been quite some time since ive had some decent Resident Evil lovin\'

Bob: It\'s arrogance like Nintendo\'s that\'s making them publish Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, and Perfect Dark.

Wait, did that make any sense? :)

All RE needs to be a better game is to have more realistic. . . and more spooky atmosphere.  The cube can do it better than before.

Funny how you say that like those are Nintendo saviors or something. Um except for Metroid all those other games where on N64 and that system didn\'t sell close to psx.

It\'s very funny how Nintendo think they have all the time in the world. While ps2 is still selling like crazy. They just sick back and say when this title launches will be ok. Um the time is now they should be trying to figure out how to get back on top of the gaming market.

I have no use for Nintendo if they want to give up on gaming then I\'ll give up on them.

Oh, shut up. :)

"I don\'t have the damned system but I\'m going to \'give up\' on it anyway!"

I listed those games because they\'re more "hip" and "mature" than efforts like Pikmin and Mario.
"Hip and mature" being the Playstation 2\'s AAA games.. like Grand Theft Auto III. As for Nintendo not being aggressive enough or waiting for key titles.. it\'s called momentum, smart guy. Once the game development ball is rolling, it\'ll keep rolling.. and games will go from "trickling out" to "coming out at a brisk rate". The games that got delayed this year (Star Fox and ED) were N64 titles just a year ago.. they had to be totally revamped. If they were built from the ground up on GameCube, they\'d be out now.. and most nay\'sayers wouldn\'t complain due to more consistent releases.

Blah..

You weren\'t complaining when the PS2 had just about nothing worth owning in its early days.. enough said. ;)

Umm yes but those games are nothing new we haven\'t seen already on Nintendo. And they surely are not games that can go head to head with the likes of GTA3.

And last Ps2 may have had a rough few months but the console still continued to sell despite it all. So whats Gcn excuse??

All of your arguments against Nintendo can easily be used against Sony.

What, GameCube isn\'t selling? Last time I checked, it was outselling Xbox in every region.

Sure, it might not be blowing away the PS2.. that\'s only expected. There\'s too much of a lead.

So Nintendo should be happy for out selling a new console bye 10,000 consoles. Oh please XBOX is new to gaming ppl have no history with it. Nintendo has been here sense the 80\'s they should be blowing xbox out. Give me a break:rolleyes:

Nobody knows when Halo will be release on PC...and however,by the time PC will get hypothetically Halo,XBox\'s going to get Halo2...so...your argument is flawed...

There\'s no point getting XBox?  it\'s just your opinion or...am I wrong?

Animal Mother, nice to see you again:)...

...Can\'t wait for my pal GC and RE...I loved the first one on PSX,my favourite...

I take most of the things I said about Nintendo back. Although I am still don\'t see why Nintendo won\'t go for the top spot. I can\'t deny that I enjoy some Nintendo games. And GCN is a great system and I will end up getting one just because I love games and can\'t deny any good games.

QuDDus: Well, the top spot is occupied by the PS2 with 25+ million units. They have too much of a lead and too much momentum to be beaten this generation.. so trying to beat them in overall sales is futile.

Who says that Nintendo isn\'t trying though? Piling on the 3rd-party games, releasing developer-friendly hardware, funding more 2nd-parties, making deal after deal with the 3rd-party heavyweights like Capcom, Namco, and Sega.. etc. I think Nintendo is sowing seeds in fertile soil.. they just haven\'t reaped the harvest yet. Nintendo\'s marketing could be better.. but as far as games go, they\'ve done a lot of work that shouldn\'t be disregarded. It pains me to say this, but wait until E3 and late 2002.. you\'ll see a big turn-around for the GameCube from its disappointing Q1.

If Nintendo release a handheld with every new console launch, then it won\'t matter if the console does poorly because they can sit on their handheld and float by like Luigi jumping in the air...

Blade so what if GC is selling out X-Box last time I checked everything was outselling the X-Box. Even napkins were. They are selling 2k per week in Europe.

Eternal Darkness?  Are you nuts?  [PR Mode]You haven\'t seen anything like Eternal Darkness.  It\'s MASSIVE. It will make you smarter - a true global phenomenon![/PR Mode]

I\'m going to go out on limb and guess that ED will overshadow GTA3 for many people with its impressiveness: storyline, originality, depth, and psychology.

Seriously, read up on ED, and you\'ll wonder aloud how you can get your hands on a copy.

[To make your post more pleasant, I took out the parts that were fodder for starting a flamewar. I\'m sure that wasn\'t your original intention. -Eik]

I disagree.  I like gamecube.

[By the way, having a disagreement lends itself to debating more if you give a few reasons.  Otherwise what will someone else say, \'No you don\'t\'?  If you support what you say, a conversation can begin. -Eik]

The main focus of this post is the middle. In buisiness why worry if another thing is out selling your stuff? When you worry then you have problems its better to relax and just worry about your stuff then the comeptitors stuff. When did Nintendo give up on gaming? Their games are fun. They have GBA which is selling ALOT. If you dont want a GC get a GBA. So what if N64 didnt outsell psx. DC didnt either.
