Title: Presentations make me nervous.
Post by: Bladez on April 11, 2002, 10:35:16 AM
I hate it.  It\'s okay but I don\'t like Power Points.  Just got mine done and everybody is looking at you and is whispering and pointing and laughing.  Ugh makes me nervous.  My hands were shaking, palms sweating, and heart racing.  I just guesss I\'m not the presentator everybody thinks I am.:D

Ah well, I guess everyone has this problem at first.  I remember when I was in college, a public speaking class was required, and I hated it so much.  I used to think, what the hell am I learning this for?  I\'ll never need to do this in real life...

Wrong.  When you go to work for a corporation, you\'ll have to do this many times.  Depending on your job, you might have to do it ALL the time.  It\'s ok, because after you\'ve done it for a while, the anxiety goes away and it\'s no big deal.  Sometime it can be fun because you get to screw around and have fun with the audience if you want to.  You can be creative.

You should ask Videoholic what it\'s like to pitch a show.  Now I\'ll bet that\'s real pressure.  Two friends of mine are aspiring screenwriters, and I can\'t imagine what they have to go through pitching their favorite ideas, and then having someone else tell you to your face that it\'s crap.

just think what I think before a presentation...

Everybody\'s doing the same thing I\'m doing.. So in a way.. I\'m just the same.

When I think about that I just don\'t care anymore.. And everything turns out alright.

At first I used to have a small public speaking problem... but once i took Drama, it all vanished away. Now reading an essay or any presentation is a breeze comparing to standing in front of a full auditorium and speaking in a cheesy british accent and a limp.. :D

Awwww, good stuff.  I\'m a presenter for my tech prep class.  Tech prep is a class where a lot of our work is doing architecture and engineering based things.  Well our year long project was designing a cluster development with 16 plots of land.  Each student got to design a house with floor plans, elevations, plot plans, etc. , etc..   Well now me and 3 other classmates are presenting it in tournaments.   Its a Power Point presentation with 25 slides.  When presenting it in front of the judges, classmates, teachers, and competators it gets very nerve racking.
