Please let it be an expansion with significant graphic upgrades. I don\'t wanna buy a whole new game, ditch the old characters and old equipment for a few upgrades.

Nah, will be cool with a new EQ :) As long as they dont try to make it DAOC or something. Hope they will still focus on PVE.
Then they can change the whole graphic engine, change the classes the way they want em to be and much more they cant do with an expansion. And btw, Planes of Power will be out later this year, so there will still take some time before EQ2 is out.
