Hi guys , I have alot of free time in between classes and since im the only one in my class who has the time off , i get bored.
I was wondering if it was worth it to buy agameboy advance.? What are some good games?
-
I bought it just for that reason. I live out of my home in class-time so I needed a console. I bought it and I assure you that GBA is a pretty nice system. Now, is cheaper as hell y has great games. I bought a puzzle for the free time and I enjoy it a lot. If you can, buy it.

There are plenty of great games for it and I feel that owning one is almost a necessity if you\'re on the run and have free time on your hands. Here are a few top notch games for it: (Don\'t forget the GBA is backwards compatible with all older Gameboy games as well)
Advance Wars
Sonic Advance
Mario Advance 1 and 2
Golden Sun
Castlevania Circle of the Moon
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Zelda: Oracle of Ages (GBC)
Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (GBC)
Metal Gear Solid (GBC)
Klonoa: EMpire of Dreams
Final Fight One
Puyo Pop

It doesnt\' have backlit capabilities (like gamegear)... really, the only thing it\'s missing.
You can buy aftermarket backlight systems, but they void the warranty (require soldering, opening it yourself) - I did that, and it was utterly worth it. My GBA now has a backlit screen like my gamegear, and it\'s beautifle for playing in the dark, with even bright illumination of the whole screen. They\'re not selling right now, but the kit is coming out, but from the success I had with my copy kit, I would assume that this one will be even better.
The other option is just to buy a small game light, that hangs over or goes on top of the screen. I had a wormlight, and returned it, and a small \'magnifier lighting\' screen, and returned it. Both cause horrendous amounts of glare if you try and play in the dark... playable but crappy.
*EDIT*
Heres the LINK (http://www.tritonlabs.com/) for one of the aftermarket-behind-the-glass lighting kit. It\'s simmilar to the one I used (this one used to be called portable monopoly, till they got lawyers letters... sheesh!), but probably a little higher quality. I\'d reccomend this kit to others, but like I said, you have to be comfortale with voiding the warranty (technically the wormlight and lightshield also void the waranty :p) and doing some soldering. I will be replacing my current kit with this one when they ship, as mine doesn\'t have adjustable lighting, or cool-running LEDs, and the battery life is draining even when I play during the day.

By the way, see the red anti-spam next to my name? :D
Just a friendly warning. Don\'t double (or even worse ^triple^) post... We have edit buttons to edit in more thoughts and such. The only people who are supposed to bump threads are mods. People will eventually reply to your stuff, when they get back on the next day.
*EDIT* (see?)
About mario advance 2:
Mario\'s Game Boy Advance debut gives gamers two games in one: a souped-up version of Super Mario Bros. 2 and an action-packed four-player version of the original Mario Bros. arcade game. Whether you\'re playing alone or with three of your friends, Super Mario Advance is the perfect game to break in your new Game Boy Advance!
Mario hasn\'t even had a chance to savor his victory in the original Super Mario Advance, and already he\'s back for more in Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2. This game is a perfect recreation of the Super NES classic Super Mario World, featuring every last secret exit and all 74 levels of platform-jumping joy.
