does anyone know if there is a monthy service charge for playing online with the ps2 modem? if so, whats the rate?
i was going to pre order it, but then those questions popped into my head, and the guys at software etc. couldn\'t answer them, so i reserved tekken 4, MK DA, and NFS HP :)

also, my DSL is only getting 40k/sec max bandwitdh, which is really low, should it be good enough for online play?

The reason they won\'t be getting my money is because I am not  big on online console gaming.

No fee for Sony\'s games (TMB, Socom, Freq, Gameday) but third party developers are free to charge if they wan\'t.

Also Everquest will have a monthy fee, as with many MMOPRG\'s, but that\'s not due out till 2003

yeah Broadband is anything over 56K...I believe.....if you want to check how fast your internet speed is go http://webservices.cnet.com/Bandwidth/ and input your Area code (for foreigners I think you can fake one), and then select your connection speed and click go to see how fast your connection speed is, Right now mine is at 1385kbps so about 1.385 Meg/sec I ususally average 600-700k.

You will have to buy a internet connection sharing device like a  router, or a hub and you will also need another ethernet cable.

Here is what a router and hub look like.

Router-

Hub-

And here is a diagram of what it should look like when its all put together-
