Title: GC sales in Europe

I don\'t have any numbers, but I\'ve heard that GC is selling quite well here in Denmark and Europe. It sold more than Xbox on launch day (but Xbox was more expensive then, so...). Overall it\'s looking good for Nintendo. I\'ve actually .. been .. thinking .. of buying one myself one day. :eek:

It\'s cheap and there are quite a few games that I think look fun.

Yes, GC is doing really well.. Sony needs the competition :)

It broke the PS2 record in the UK (75 000 for GC, 70 000 for PS2) Though PS2 sold best overall allover Europe.

Worldwide its:

1. PS2
2. GC
3. Xbox

i heard somewhere that XBox had sold more worldwide than GC..  

although i think that was before the Europe launch of GC..

Bob: When Xbox was released in all 3 areas.. the GCN still had a good lead.

Xbox is/was about 200-300K ahead of GCN in the US, while GCN was over a million ahead of Xbox in Japan.

Microsoft\'s console sold nowhere near a million units in all of Europe.. so the GCN held the lead. With GCN outselling Xbox weekly in the US, outselling Xbox overall in Japan.. and having a far better launch in Europe and Australia.. it\'s safe to say that the GCN has the upper hand on Xbox in sales. It\'s a shame that NPD isn\'t posting numbers..

Is that true, did GCN start outselling Xbox in the US?  Where did you see that?

It has terrible in-store presence in some places.  The EB near me doesn\'t even have a Gamecube banner, they put all the games under a Nintendo 64 sign.  I made fun of the guy at the store because of that.

He told me, "It\'s a nice little box."
