I was browsing through the ps2 games section at http://www.play.com when I noticed this little sentence; "Region; PAL: Will play on UK Playstation2 only"
So my question is, will I be able to play these games on a norwegian PAL machine?
-
Yes..
PAL in UK is the same PAL as in Norway, Sweden, Germany ect.
-
ok, thanks :)

As far as I know (and a quick search turned up no difference), the region encoding is not as stringent as DVD movies... those have 7 regions, like normal (though with the DVDX CD, you can watch all regions of DVDs). There seem to be 3 flavours of encoding for games, North America, Europe, and Asia.
So, I think that the game will work in your PS2.
*EDIT* Heh, and in the 5 minutes I searched to make sure, you got the answer from a European. :p

One more time, PAL is used as a synonym of UK. Stupid morons!

That\'s just the problem! It\'s not a synonym... PAL means Europe and Australia... and Europe is not only UK!
(Excuse me if there are more PAL countries included, but i\'m not a computer)
