Title: 2 consoles and bored.
Post by: QuDDus on May 13, 2002, 12:49:09 PM
Well I basicly have played all the good games on ps2. There has been nothing new out that seems to be any good.  I have done ffx(great),mgs2(good),gta3(great),dmc(kind of weak),gt3(great),vf4(didn\'t like it), ico(boring) jAK and dexter(very dull).

Even with doa3(good), halo(great), mad dash(fun), Sh:Rd(dull), wreckless(ok), jsrf(good), blood awake(in between). I am still bored with gaming.

As of now I am pretty bored I am waiting on some good games on ps2 and xbox soon. I still haven\'t played Max payne maybe I\'ll get that.

Anyone esle kinda bored??

Yes, I\'m bored. All the great games I\'m looking forward to are still a ways off...

As for Max Payne, I have it for Ps2, and it\'s good. But I dunno how it compares to the X-Box. All I know is that everyone says to get it on PC. :)

I have just a GCN..

I\'m playing Resident Evil through (with Jill this time) in addition to Soccer Slam and the occasional Monkey Ball.

GCN + PC = no boredom here!

This is always a slow time in the year for gaming.

I haven\'t played any Xbox or PS2 games in probably 2 or 3 months...Just finished FFIX and probably going to pick up Chrono Cross next.  I\'m really busy with my real estate stuff right now so I see this as a good time to slow down on game buying...

Get an NES.

The great games for that never stop!

Give me Mike Tyson\'s Punch Out and Tecmo Super Bowl, and I\'ll be set for months.

Or buy yourself a Dreamcast and get a emu disc that has thousands of NES games on it.  You\'ll have all the Megamans, Zeldas, Double Dragons, Ninja Gaidens, etc...  Not to mention the great library of titles on the DC itself.  It\'s cheaper in the long run if you want NES on your TV, trust me.  PM if interested, they\'re not the easiest to find at times.

And also check out MAME (http://www.mame.net).  I\'ve been having a blast playing old arcade games on my PC with as many continues as I want.  Remember Final Fight, Metal Slug, the Simpsons, and the Xmen?  I always played those in the arcades but now I play em till the end.  Very fun!

ugh, i wish i had your problem

i have too manny games right now..

i only recently started buying games, and ive also started buying earlier PS2 games for me to catch up on (Summoner was great, glad i bought it cheap) plus GameCube is being released real soon and i wanna check out a couple of games for that, i also have a whole heap of Snes games that im playing through..

its a good thing i skip all my University classes, or i\'d be in deep $hit  ;)

plus i just bought VF4 (its ok, not anywhere near as good as Tekken) Final Fantasy X is out in 3 days, and Medal of Honor is coming real soon too baby

check out Max Payne, its pretty fun, nothing special, but the bullet time thing is neat.

I really don\'t have much time to game anymore now that I\'m working about 80 hours a week + depending.. but I have gotten up to the last 5 rooms of the 6th Scenario in Wolfenstein3D for the GBA. It\'s kept me pretty entertained so far.. coincidentally enough.. I\'ll probably have it finished on the same day I get my next paycheck. >:)

And speaking of GBA.. with everyone knowing how big of an adventure game freak I am, how come noone ever mentioned Broken Sword???? Argh.. that\'s my next one dammit. Even if I have to go without sleep one of these days and drive to Indianapolis to find it!!!

Yeah, yeah.. I\'m sure alotta people here don\'t think it\'s very good. I still play Martian Memorandum and Countdown. So bite me! Wonder if this will garner interest for other adventure games to be released on GBA? Legend of Kyrandia.. Indiana Jones.. Monkey Island.. Leisure Suit Larry (in your dreams).. Gabriel Knight...

Ooohhh.. the possibilities!

QuDDus, I had the same problem not so long ago.  I felt that there was nothing worth while coming on to the consoles and everything that was being released was very un-original.

I then bought myself a 8 bit and 16 bit console (seeing that the prices you pay for the games are very cheap).  I now have 4 consoles to play from and, believe me, when playing the 8 bir or 16 bit games again you realise how much has changed and what we take for granted.  After playing a good few weeks of 8 bit I played my PS2 again and it felt like the first time that I saw PS2 graphics....amazed

Try it;)

Broken Swords a great game. I started of playing the first part on PC and eventually got the second part on PSX. Part one is really great, although I recommend it on PC (since on PSX the loading times are a bit slow and using a controller sucks). Part 2 is okay, not bad - but not as good as the first part. Broken Sword is definately a great game though and I can\'t wait for the next part to come! :bounce:

Sounds just the same as me, i haven\'t played my PS2 or Xbox in months, and i don\'t think i will for a long time yet, until the games become more online.
The only game i am playing at the mo is RE for GC and that only gets 20-30 mins because i really don\'t like the GC controller, it just doesn\'t feel natural.
I just can\'t stop playing Medal of honor online and Counter strike, they are just to good, there is just something about playing another human online.

remember Quddus, dont rule out old PS2 games such as Red Faction, which despite its flaws is a great FPS (on par with Half-Life IMO)

also have you played games like Baldur\'s Gate: Dark Alliance, another high quality game.. really doesnt seem like you\'ve played "all" the good games out right now

if you have played those though.. then.. great  :)

8 consoles (+PC) and bored. Well, not bored, I just don\'t play as much now as I usually do. The only game I\'ve played recently is FFVII (oh yeah, and SoulReaver2, that took one day to finish). I wonder if I\'ll break 1000 hours with the game... :p

I\'d get a truckload of games if it wasn\'t for financial reasons...

Can\'t say I agree. Bewteen RE on my GC (unlocking everything) , VF4 on the PS2 (Kumite mode) and pretty soon the new CastleVania for the GBA, my gaming needs are completely satisfied. As for my XBox, well, it hasn\'t been touched in along time.
