Title: Girlish Notions of of Romance...
Post by: SEXY LADY! on May 14, 2002, 06:24:32 PM
Forgive me for being female but I just got back from a movie.  I went alone with my water bottle full of wine.  I was inspired.

Anywho I was thinking I needed a way to find a personilty to go with each of you so here goes...

What do you consider romantic??

BE A MAN ABOUT IT.....

cooking a woman bacon and eggs on sunday after waking up at 1pm.

then going for a walk to the park and maybe going shopping at some antique store, i could try on some old hats.

then laying in bed with the lucky lady and her cat next to an open window with a nice cool breeze coming in and watching the simpsons.

Romance? Heck, I say foreplay should be as easy as ringing’ the chicks doorbell. As soon as it goes beyond this I get all fuzzy in the brain.;)

romance is dead

the courtship of modern couples has been reduced to dinner, movie, and sex

I wouldn\'t say dead emmy. \'Rare\' would be more appropriate.

Romance is dead when it is used for the sole purpose of bringing joy to only yourself. The problem with people today is that they are looking out for number one and have no intentions for pleasing others by doing selfless acts of kindness.

When a guy asks a girl out and sets up a romantic dinner with candles and flowers etc, etc, he generally has one intention in mind… to get laid. As it was in the old days, men had to console the father and be welcomed into the family before he even had any opportunity to court the woman.

Woman are not exempt from being equally selfish, it’s just easier for me to use an example of a guys point of view…’cause I’m a guy.

I found that romance was 100 times better after I got married. I say this because I have to work at it a little harder and be more creative in the acts of romance. Flowers are nice but they do not always cut it now. I guess when you get married you may (or may not) find out what I mean.

Having the opportunity to peer into another human being\'s soul.... their very essence....knowing the deepest aspects of their soul..... their very being..... blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc.  I spose its all good.

For me it\'s dinner, movie, and sex.

;] Nah, I don\'t know...  If you want to be romantic it has to be in the moment, you can\'t have some cookie cutter method.

When i\'m romantic i have sex,  No, i do not make love, i have sex.    What is it with women and those words, "i want to make love, instead of sex"  Same thing in the end :nerd:

Well, to me..being romantic is many a things to many a people. Me for example, I try to figured out small  things that a particular lady likes and surprise her with them.

Draw a bubble bath for her while I cook dinner. Strolls on the beach talking about nothing. Leaving poetry on her voicemail when I know she wont answer.

Flowers in my eyes are alittle typical nowadays, but still..one must pick some up every once in a while.

Basically, just surprising her with a bunch of things she would adore periodically.

Yeah, you can\'t really plan romance, it just sorta happens. The trick is knowing what to do and when to do it. What you shoulda asked was for everyone to share their most romantic moment. Perhaps that would be more insightful. :)

hmm well i would have to say that something i consider romantic or sweet is. . .

being with the girl/guy you love and spending time with that person somewhere like the beach where no ones around and watching the tide come in and the stars come out

only thing is i need a beach and some money to get there lol

I appreciate the efforts by some to explain romance.

Maybe to some romance is indeed dead or doesn\'t exist but I think there is is indeed a glimmer of hope when I get replies like this.  This was merely an exercise to see who was a man and who was a boy.

By the way, Mr. tom are you telling me how to ask my own question?

Romance in my life ovoccurs somewhere between the dirty diapers and the bottle.

Actually My momma took care of the little log last weekend and we got to stay in a hotel on the beach.  That was very nice.

Took a nice walk on the beach.  We gently walked across the sand while caressing the back of each others necks.  Listening to the waves crash on the rocks with the gentle brease blowing through our hair.  What\'s that I see?  A lifeguard tower?  Let\'s get up there and hump like monkeys!!  WOOHOO!!!!

Romance isn\'t dead.  People say it\'s dead, some for their whole lives, but...

It\'s only dead for you, until you meet someone really special, and all of a sudden, you are going to find yourself out for romance instead of sex.  It\'ll happen to most of you... one day!  Mark my words.

**Shudder**
I can\'t believe I wrote that at 22... I\'m not sure if I\'m lucky or unlucky (lucky to believe in romance, lucky to have found it, unlucky to have lost it, unlucky to have to be looking for it so young).  At 20, tho... I prolly would have replied much the same as many of the \'dead-romance\' guys did.

I don\'t typically believe in the whole romance thing. However, here is a couple things I\'ve done.

1) I was dating a girl at one point and I was out shopping one night and I saw some flowers and a teddy bear. So, I bought them for her. The "problem", I guess you could call it, was she was at work. So, I drove to where she worked (incidently I work there now) and delivered them personally.

2) The same girl was a very big Winnie the Pooh fan, to be more specfic, she was an Eyeor fan. I saw one at the Disney Store , a giant one. I natrually bought it for her. Later that weekend we had a date set. She came over to my house , so I went outside and put it in her truck, so that when she was going home, she would see it.

I\'ve done a couple other things also, but those are the most notable.

Well, I can be sometimes, for example:

I was guaranteed sex anyway, so I didnt need to do any of this!! I paid £35 to get a train for 4 hours to see a girl for one day. When I got there, I took her out for lunch, then we went shopping and I bought her some nice stuff. Then we went back to hers and she raped me, after which we went out for a few drinks and a meal, which I again paid for, then watched a film with a bottle of wine back at hers. All in all, it cost me a forune, money whcih I dont have. Ahh well, never mind.
