Title: Do we have any writers in the house?
Post by: project86 on May 15, 2002, 06:55:06 AM
Does anybody in here like any poetry? I just wondered considering that there are a lot of you that write in to the music threads. In my personal opinion I would say that John Keats was, is and shall always be my favorite writer and poet. I used to write poetry, but I have not been all that inspired lately. I don’t write in the same content as John Keats, as he was a more romantic poet. I write along the lines of real time poetry. It represents all that is considered in life as one is living it. It sounds strange but it’s cool. And it helps me get some of those day-to-day hardships off of my chest. So, do we have any writers in the group here?

Long stories are my forte. I\'m not good at poetry; infact, I wrote only one good piece for my ex, when we were breaking up. If I ever dig it up, I\'ll post it.

I write plays and movie scripts. Poetry is too confusing.

Poetry is tough to write but it can be one of the most expressive forms of writing if it is used correctly. I have the hardest time writing in sonnet form. I love to write free form and sometimes Haiku is nice.

When I get in the mood to write fast however, a short story is a better way to go for myself. That way I can look back later and write a poem based on the story. At times this is even better than writing a poem at the moment you want to because it gives the reader another perspective.

It’s more like the writer is on the outside looking in and the reader is viewing the entire scope of detail as the writer tries to work out detail in his or her own writings.

Sorry, I shouldn’t babble so much.
