Title: Just got the Gamecube
Post by: NPYYZ on May 17, 2002, 06:02:30 PM
My Daughter loves the resident evil games so I just got her a Gamecube and the R.E. game and a memory card. I am very impressed with this tiny little console. R.E. looks fantastic. The lightning effects are very  nice. The sound is excellent also. She is playing it through a surround sound system. I will be trying out this console after she finishes the R.E. game. I don\'t want to watch her play to much of the game because I want to be surprised when i get my turn. What I did see looks excellent. For the next 2 weeks I will be using her PS2 and playing Code Veronica and GTA3. We now have the big 4 systems. I have the Dreamcast and the Xbox. She has the PS2 and the Gamecube.

It will be nice to get to use the PS2 for an extended amount of time. Any PS2 game suggestions for me to try out? Also what else is good on the Cube???

Gaming rocks.

Thanks for the info mm. What about that basketball game? I saw it running in the store and it looked pretty good. I\'m a sports game nut, maybe I\'ll give it a rent.

Has everyone forgotten Super Smash Brothers?  Oh wait isn\'t this the board where everyone hates it?  I liked it.

I like Wave Race alot but that might not be your thing.  Awesome game.

God, SSB is a must have... how can anyone overlook that game.  I still play it on a ALMOST daily basis, at least a couple times a week.

oh man.. your daughter is playing Resident Evil 1, and you.. your stuck playing Code Veronica??  oh man, i feel sorry for you..

oh sh1t!  i just realised.. there are some spoilers in Code Veronica that will ruin the first game for you  :)  so avoid it until you play RE1

but GTA3 should last you until she has finished RE1, so yunno.. plus theres heaps of other PS2 games you could check out as well to pass your time.. RE1 cant be that big can it??  i know the original wasnt

note:  this post was made assuming you never played the original RE  :)

:fro: toot on

Get Pikmin and Super Smash Bros. Your daughter may like Luigi\'s Mansion. It\'s short, but pretty fun while it lasts.

I can\'t wait for this Summer/Fall...Eternal Darkness, Turok, Star Fox, Mario, hopefully Zelda, Rayman 3, Metroid, more RE games...*drools*

Well NYPPZ... Looks like we all know who wears the pants in your family now eh? :p RE:1 Remake definately looks good, but I\'m not really too interested in remakes. I\'d love to see what RE: 0 and RE:4 look like tho. Those should be killer titles.

Hmm.. well as far as other titles I\'m not too sure. The GameCube has been in a bit of a game slump lately. They\'ve got a bunch of great sounding games comming out in the future so it\'s not a wasted purchase or anything. Eternal Darkness, Perfect Dark, and Metroid Prime are the ones I\'m looking forward to the most. (Even if Metroid Prime isn\'t going to be a true metroid title in the traditional sence)

Right now, I\'d say pick up Rouge Squadron 2, SSB:M, WaveRacer, Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball, and Sonic Adventure 2 if you don\'t already have it for the Dreamcast. Most of the others are just ports found on the PS2 or Xbox. PSO should be comming out before too long.. and it\'ll include a modem in the box.. so there\'s something you might wanna look into. I wouldn\'t suggest getting for your daughter tho.. some of those people talk pretty trashy and thanks to the smilie face editor you see an amazing amount of pornography which Sega can\'t censor out.

RE Remake is more than just a graphical update.

Lots of new areas to explore, most puzzles have changed to some new variation and enemies are harder.

There\'s also some new sub-plot which involves some freaky monster.

Good job, Capcom.
