Renting sucks. You are essentially making someone elses morgage payment for them. Instead of throwing 900 bucks a month in rent, owning a house you throw 900 into it every month plus it appreciates.
Oh yeah, and apparently the terrorists are planning on bombing apartment complexes in US.

APARTMENTS AT RISK?
The FBI also told NBC that earlier in the week, counterterrorism officials sent an electronic communication to all 56 FBI field offices. It instructed the joint terrorism task forces at all field offices to caution managers of residential properties about a possible al-Qaida terrorist act.
The FBI has learned that al-Qaida terrorists have discussed the possibility of renting U.S. apartments and rigging them with explosives, according to an FBI spokesperson, who said the agency is not sure if this proposed action has ever gone beyond the discussion stage.
The FBI stressed that this is not an official warning. The agency decided to communicate the warning out of caution, not because they believe any threat is imminent.

Instead of $900 a month, try $1,750 a month for a 2 bedroom. That\'s what I pay. One bedrooms usually run about $1,000 to $1,300. You don\'t even want to know what a house in this part of town would cost. I don\'t want to move to the boonies, so I rent.

Thank you for sharing.

Yup, Coredweller is right. It sucks total ass here in California when it comes to buying houses. Out in Florida though, I\'m sure everything must be hunky dory, excuse us for living in a state that actually produces something other than Orange Juice and second rate TV shows. :p

It must suck to pay more than double in California to buy the equivalent of a house in Ohio.
-
Where I live (KY) you can rent a pretty good 2 bedroom house for $300 or so. I can\'t imagine paying $900 or more. To hell with that.
I think on that note, I am never going to move.

Renting sucks! I bought a house and have been happy I did so ever since I signed the dotted line. One word for home owners...
EQUITY!!!

We should have just kept our oranges, cheese, movies, and Napa wine to ourselves when we were in our power crisis and no one would help us out.
