man, this thing is sweet!
took about an hour to install
only 4 contact solder points
i was gonna document an install guide and use my digi-cam, cause i figured the directions would be some cheap little scrap a paper with some diagrams hand written on it
oh hell no, they went and put 8 page pamphlet with full color diagrams! i was highly impressed. they even thru in a little anti-glare screen to boot. the whole setup just reeks of quality.
i HIGHLY reccomend this procedure to anyone who hates thier GBA cause its so dark
i\'ll leave ya with one pic tho
a dissected GBA

let me know how it works :)
mine is on the way, but I wanna be sure its good
make sure you installed the "dimmer" or whatever its called
-
nah, i didnt put the dimmer on
i didnt see a point in it, i want that thing BRIGHT!
GBA only uses two batteries, so i dont care how fast it goes thru em, rechargables rock!
when you install it, the light itself is a square, flat piece of what looks like lucite. DO NOT TOUCH IT AFTER PEELING OFF THE PROTECTIVE FILMS! oh, and keep a compressed air can handy

"nah, i didnt put the dimmer on

Well, some people are saying its TOO bright and washes out the colors
-
nah, too much work for me
its backlit, im happy
-
Yay! Mine came too! It took a lot longer to remove the old (imitation, crappy), one than install the new one. I put in the dimmer switch, too. MM - I think you should consider going back and putting in the switch... my copy kit used a lot of batteries (it\'s light was nowhere near as good as this baby!). Also, if you take your newly modded GBA outside or to a really well lit room... you\'ll see that this tube light works so damn well that it does fade out the colors a lot, and make the screen too bright. The dimmer wasn\'t that hard to install, couple of extra connections, and a little hole to cut. I\'m infinitely happier with this baby than my old one (I think, now that I examine it, it used three tiny LEDs or bulbs... and was horribly uneven. Stupid POS).
