Title: What the heck is a Spanner....

I was just watching a kids show with my youngins and a dang toolbox said that it was trying to catch his spanners, Well of course being the dirty FREAK that I\'am I thought OMG!! and then realized wait this is probably a show from England or Aussie a spanner is not what Im thinking.. So what is it? I\'m thinking it has to be a tool.

A spanner is a tool sorta like a wrench, except it just has a crecsent-moon shape with two posts at the tips.

I\'m more curious about what you first thought it was.  I don\'t recall any north american sexual slang including the word "spanner???"

Spanner is another term for a wrench. Its a slightly different shape.

yeah a spanner is like a wrench, but you cant adjust the size of the head
