OK, I am buying a car soon. I need help as to what you all recommend.
These are the cars I have narrowed it down too. Insurance costs are the same for each vehicle, and they are all around the same price. I just need to know which one I should buy.
1) 1996 Mitsubishi FTO
This is the one I want to buy the most. Its got 148 KW and 50000k/m. Its $19 000. I love the look of this car. Its extremly sexy, its small, and its not too powerful. Its a V6 24 valve non turbo, its only 1000KG, so its very quick. A lot of torque. Japan\'s car of the year twice in a row.

2) 1996 Nissan Skyline R33
Nice car. Didn\'t really want a turbo though. $22 000. Lotsa k/m though - 77000. Its a very powerful car, and extremly common in Australia, so parts are not a problem, and its a more reliable car than the FTO.

3) 1994 Toyota Soarer
Nice car. Its a turbo though. low k/m, $23 000. I really like the blue colour. Its pretty powerful though, and thats something I really didn\'t want as its gonna be an everyday car.
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autoforce.com.au%2Fpicslarge%2Fw387-soarer-01.jpg&hash=03b64be6a2ede3e004755aef7e59dfccd945b0b3)
These are the top three. What do you all recommend?

SKYLINE, why do u need help what is wrong with u? Maybe u do need help if you cant see that the skyline is the shizit.
-
Why any kid needs a 20,000 car is beyond me. My first car came out of the junk yard. It was awesome. I had a beer poster for a headliner and pics of chicks taped to the walls.
-
Thats $20 000 AUS, which is like $12 000 US.
The reason why I am not buying a junk car is because they cost too much money when the crappy thing breaks down. The idea is to spend alittle more money to get something decent that will last accouple of years.
-
buy a real car get a

OK Racer, you are now not only anal retentive, but you are a freaking liar. Why didn\'t you just say it was your parents car from the beginning?

I\'d prolly get the FTO myself. There\'s just something insanely appealing in that car...
Now that I got my driver\'s licence I oughta start saving up for a car too..
-
Aw crap Racer, I thought you had made a lot of money on male prostitution and thus could afford a cool car, and then it turns out it wasn\'t even yours. :(
j/k big guy :D
-
yeah i go for the skyline
-
Video. Its technically NOT mine, but I still drive it. Its mums car, but I use it just as much. Its just a technicallity I probably shoulda mentioned.
I didn\'t see it as a big deal.
-
My grandfather has a Jaguar Majestic (Or however you spell it), a Rolls Royce, a Ferrari, and a Cadillac Elante. I don\'t remember telling everyone that I have a Ferrari.

WTF `????%"¤#%#"¤
12000$ for a car like that ? U know what u get for 12000$ in Norway ? Toyota Yaris. U know what a Chevrolet Suburban cost for us here in Norway ?? About 50000$. 12000$ is not much for a decent car IMO. And for a Nissan Skyline... Im sure I had to pay out about 70000$. Well... thats the main reason why so many Norwegians import BMW from Germany $$$$ :)
-
Agnino, those prices are about what we pay in the states as well. I think when Racer is talking about a 12000 skyline (Or whatever) he is talking about just the tires and the steering wheel. The rest of the car is extra.
-
I was talking $12000 US!
You guys gotta understand that imported cars in Australia are dirt cheap.
That Skyline pictured is priced at $21 000 AUS, which equals about $12 - 14 000 US, depending on the exchange rate.
Yes, cars are probably expensive in Norway. I mean, you do live in Norway you realise?
For example. In Australia, you can buy a 600 HP Skyline GTR 34, fully modded out for around $50 000 AUS second hand.
That equals like $30 000 US.
-
That "Toyota Soarer" is marketed as the Paseo in the United States, am I right? What an awful car. Stay away, stay away. Oh yeah, and "Soarer" is a gay name too.

No, the soarer\'s are what the lexus sc series are :) Just turbo\'d
-
Oh yeah, you\'re right. I always confuse the SCs and Paseos until I see the badge.
-
I worked 4 years in a grocery store to save up for this:
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.johann-sandra.com%2Fus%2Fimages%2Faccord2.jpg&hash=740aa87cc84912330e17f7dc0304ee17b1d48325)
My dad and I fixed it up so nice it\'s better than new. It has 120k miles but I\'m sure it will last me at least 5 years.
Got it for 1600 bucks at a towing auction. :D

That accord is a good car Vapor, but you\'ve GOT to get rid of those wheels. Even stock wheels would be better than those. You should be able to find some cheap, or maybe something else. Just my opinion.
-
Ah! I\'m so stupid...
That car is not mine. I\'ll try to get a picture of mine soon. I was just using that as a sample. My 88 Honda Accord LX is a champagne color and I got new kick-ass tires much better than those and the interior is a maroonish color.
I\'ll get a real pic up as soon as I can.
-
yeah, those rims are ghey

Exactly. Paseo is like a small coupe.

No, I don\'t think he knew... d\'uh
-
its true that cars are slightly cheaper in australia compared to europe/US
-
I wouldnt say slightly, I would say alot. Especially when buying imports. Its because we are so close to Japan.
-
I actually think it\'s more do with taxes on trading with Japan than the distance. But I don\'t know so it\'s just a hunch.
-
Yeah, I think Australia and Japan have some export/import agreement.
But Australia has that with the US, so it doesnt make sense.
Maybe Yanks should import from Australia, as taxes are low. I think...
-
OK, it\'s been 6 months.. What did you get?
-
Err, it\'s six months old, but what the hay:
The US has pretty strict emissions laws (stricter than Japan) and stuff, so importing a Skyline would mean a rework of the exhaust stuffs. Then there\'s the whole "steering wheel on the wrong (;) ) side" thing.
-
I want to see Vapor\'s car!!!11111 He probably dropped it and added a huge spoiler... *CROSSES FINGERS*
-
Here\'s Vapor\'s car:D
