I\'m glad everyone is digging it. Look for another article featurinf the show floor tomorrow. The show was such a great time, but it went by way too fast. There are so many games that you can\'t even try to play them all, and even though it\'s three solid days of games, you want more and more.

Playing games that won\'t ever come out, or won\'t come out for a long time is a blast as well. I played lots of Zelda, som Final Fantasy XI, Mario, and Metroid. They all ruled.

The Getaway was pretty poor though. It was very buggy, the contols were bad, and the framerate was horrensous. It looks nothing like the pics that people post here.

If you have any questions, I\'ll try and answer them here. I can\'t wait until next year.

All the videos that i\'ve seen the framerate wasn\'t horrendous it seemed smooth so at what points does the framerate drop ?

It\'s bad all of the time. When you walk, but mostly when you drive. Granted, they have time to fix many of the problems, but there are so many, that it seems unlikely. There were lots of cool parts to the game, but it seemed like everyone walked away concerned that it was going to be a bad game. Kind of like how Driver 2 could have been great, but ended up poor.

Weird... all the videos I\'ve seen the framerate seems smooth.  They must have only released the good ones. :surprised

Did you see Rachet and Clank?  Did that look good? :facelick:

Well, perhaps it\'s just a poor build they had at E3. After all, this game is from Europe and I\'m sure they have more important things to do, then get a flawless demo up and running. The videos do make me believe that the game can run flawless - and they still have a few months before it\'s released to get this sorted out. ;)

Actually, they do put all their efforts into getting stuff as good as they can for E3. These people don\'t sleep in the weeks leading up to the show, and for some companies, if they don\'t have anything to show at E3, the game doesn\'t get made. In The Getaway\'s case, Sony hyped the hell out of it, and I am absolutely sure they busted ass trying to get it ready, it\'s just not that good. You\'ll see.

Ratchet and Clank is a very generic platformer that does nothing really exciting with the genre. The game to look out for by Sony is Sly Cooper, a cell-shaded game that looks great and incorporates many different play styles into the adventure. In fact, after E3, I\'d be surprised if Sony doesn\'t switch some of Ratchet\'s marketing money over to Sly, cause Sly is so much better at this point.

Would you go as far to say Ratchet and Clank will be a disappointment to those thinking it\'s the next big thing?  Was it at least fun?

I also have another question for you, Xbox related.  Did you see the game, Unseen?  I\'m extremly curious about that, Panzer Dragoon, and Project Ego...did you have a chance to play any of them?

Ratchet and Clank just felt uninspired, like Sony came to them and said, we need some new mascots, make a platformer, have it ready by Christmas...GO! There are lots of weapons, and it focuses on exploration, but it just wasn\'t that spectacular.

I did play Panzer Dragoon, and visually it was amazing, but it didn\'t offer much new other than the ability to slow down and speed up. It\'s a fancy rail shooter, that looks great, but it didn\'t appear to be blowing anyone away.

THe only other Xbox stuff I played was Dead To Rights, which will be pretty good, it\'s a lot like Max Payne. I played some SHenmue II, and it looked good except for an annoying motion blur. Crazy Taxi 3 is a nice return to the series\' roots, and it is much more refined than the original.

Other than that, I played games that were coming out for all systems. Turok looked surprisingly good, a much better effort than the last ones.

Yeah, for an American/Japanese gaming company. The europeans have always been a bit different IMHO. I mean, where was WRC2002? The still not released Wipeout Fusion? The european gaming companies already lacked a lot in last years E3 and the Getaway just needed to be displayed this year or else it would have been forgotten. And the game still has a lot of time to be ironed out - but I guess we\'ll see. Thanks for your impressions anyway. Wish I could have been there too. :(

That\'s strange, I read that Rachet and Clank was a fun game, it strayed from the regular platform formula of just picking up coins.  That Xengamers article that was 4 pages long made it sound really interesting.

Yeah, you don\'t pick up coins, you pick up bolts. I\'ve got the demo of it boring me to tears right here.

Thanx...and I am looking forward to Turok.

Maybe I missed it, but what game did you find the most impressive overall. (any system)

It really sounds like I\'m a Nintendo whore, but I gave my top three games as :Metroid, Mario and then Zelda. The funny thing is that I wasn\'t looking forward to Metroid at all, but it is amazing.

Battlefield 1942 for PC and Xbox is an amazing game, and as far as best ps2 games, I had Madden, and I liked Shinobi and Socom as well.

After E3, Metroid and Zelda are on my top 5 most wanted list...Nintendo never does disappoint.

Only in Europe, US release date is set for release in June I think...
