Title: Any1 mount a PS2 in their car?
Post by: theomen on May 28, 2002, 12:04:23 AM
I\'m going to mount my PS2 in my car and can\'t think of a way to mount it other than under the seat.  It would be hard to mount it in the trunk because I can\'t turn it on, even a switch on the hot wire wouldn\'t work because the ps2 stays off after you give it power, it has to have the button pushed.  A  remote won\'t work becuase it\'s in the damn trunk.

Glove compartment is too small, and so is the center console
Any ideas other than under the seat?

When ever I finally decide to do it..Im mounting mine in my dash in the street car. Taking the pass. side airbag out and using that recess to hide and house the ps2. The disc drawer will slide straight out of the dash and the buttons will be flush mount. Gonna fab some kind of sliding door to hide the drawer and buttons too..totally stealth.

so you could pull off the road and play it everyonce in a while? If its in the glove box its not for the back seat people, altough I have to admite we took a road trip to cali and I set up my ps1 for the kids to play in the back of the mini-van but no way I would just do that with a 200 dollars peice of hardware..

You can put LCD screens in the back and you can use the cable extenders to actually make you a new port to plug into in the back for the controller.

The PS2 also gives you a different video source if you want to watch something different in the back from the people up front.

guys you do realize that have something like a ps2 in yer car is quite dangerous, meaning even if some one else is playing while yer driving, instead of concentrating on the road yer gonna most likely be concentrating on the game being played on the ps2.

how in the world can you tell me what im more likely to concentrate on? I had a lcd in the car a little over a year ago, I sold it cuz I needed some dough..not once did i try watching a flick while driving nor did I try to ever play a game at a stop light.

If you are so easily distracted in life, speak for yourself, not others.

if anyone is dumb enough to play a game while driving, I hope they drive straight off a damn cliff and die a horribley agonizing death, then be sent straight  to hell where they would be repetedly raped by the devil.

In other words, not many people are dumb enough to do that, atleast I\'m not, I mean 90% of the time I have my laptop in the car, and I have never once tried to watch a dvd or play a game.

as for why I want a ps2 in the car, well movies for the passengers on long trips, they can also play games, when parked waiting for something (like picking someone up at the airport etc... I have something to do.  And finally the sheer coolness factor to have a ps2 in your car.
