Title: w00-h00...lakers lose :)
Post by: luckee on May 28, 2002, 08:04:54 PM
gotta love a clutch play by bibby..which I admit, he makes me nervous any time he holds the ball. He moves faster than that ball!!! Plus has been known to be inconsistent

next..kobe blew it..nuff said.

Exactly.  Kobe has no one to blame for this loss but himself.  He kept getting the ball and failing to deliver down the stretch.

Are you crazy, I think Kobe is who kept them alive in the 4th quarter.  Kobe can\'t play perfect in every game.

Kept them alive?  How, by shooting 27% in the fourth?  That\'s not only perfect, that\'s just plain bad.

I don\'t know the percentages, all I saw was him make some clutch shots at the end.

Even the best player in the NBA can\'t play perfect every night.

Kobe had to shoot the ball, let\'s face it with out Shaq, the Lakers have a one man team.  So even though Kobe only shot 27% he still was the best and only hope for the Lakers.

As for Bibby, amazing is the only word for him.  And now that Peja is back playing, hopefully he can start getting a little bit more into the game, and can be a bit more productive.

\'Cause if Peja can get to 90-100% that would mean the Kings would have 3 20+ scorers.

Yeah I agree with Bozco here. Kobe was what kept your ass on the edge of your seat and you know it. He was spinnin\' and going baseline and drawing fouls, etc. How did he not show up?

Funny how if he made that one final shot his clutch performance wouldn\'t be questioned right now.

And why do we have 4 threads about this now?

11 - 29 is about 38% shooting. Thats not incredibly awful, considering he was drawing alot of fouls.

I think I\'m done talking about this game for the night.

Kobe scored 32 points and hit key buckets when they needed. Derrick fisher, hunter, fox, and horry all have to play better. Richmond came in the game and added nothing. Mike Bibby is tearing the crap out of fisher and hunter and that is what is killing the lakers.

Fisher needs to step it up. Shaq has not dominated a game yet. I expect the lakers to win game 6, but 7 looks tough.

Like I said, under 40% for the game.  In the fourth, when it mattered, he was 27% though.  And, honestly, the idea that he has to carry the team was why I think they lost.  He doesn\'t have to.  He has to lead the team.  There\'s a difference.  He doesn\'t have to, and shouldn\'t take all the shots down the stretch.  He should be passing out of the double teams he drew every time he touched the ball, and finding the open man for the easy baskets.  That\'s how you win a game, not my taking the tough shots thinking you are the one who has to make them.  I think he hurt his team in the 4th, not helped.  At least not offensively.

Kobe\'s clutch shot isn\'t a high percentage shot, IMO.

It\'s a hit or miss. Kobe didn\'t blow anything. Sure, I\'d wish he\'d drive the ball and get fouled, but again, Lakers dominated the 3rd and 3/4\'s the 4th quarter. Shaq owned every King in the 3rd quarter.

Game 6 is gonna be a war, and I have strong intentions that Lakers will come up on top. Game 7 is all expirence laddies and gentlemen. You\'ll probally see the most intense stuff right there, like the Finals but in the Conference finals.

I mean, what kind of series is it gonna be with Kings vs Nets? Or Celtics? Bring back some legendary matchups that would be more interesting, like LA vs. Boston.

I can assure you, Jackson isn\'t going to let players find their destiny in a must win situation. He\'s going to go deeper, he\'s going to take out players whom aren\'t shooting the ball well. The offense is going to Shaq, and I can almost foresee Bryant playing Bibby the entire game, and Game 7.

I thought Fisher had great D? Pfft...i told you he couldn\'t guard Bibby. If Kobe guards him Bibby will definately be slowed down, put if Peja can play better he should be able to score alot.

I don\'t think Fisher has the concentration and the determination Kobe has. Fisher is smaller, and has average quickness, and he hasn\'t had a spactacular playoff stats. Bibby I can see in being the next big thing in PG\'s. He\'s fast, he can definately shoot, and he can steal. But I hope Bibby knows now he\'ll have to play against one of the best one on one defenders in the league.

Note, Peja isn\'t going to get his shot overnight, at least not in gametime situations...
