Title: Monster component cable problem...
Post by: WhyYouLoveMe on May 29, 2002, 01:30:47 PM
So I\'ve got the Monster 400 GameLink cables (component video/analog audio).  I\'m so excited!  Ack...  I hook \'em up, turn on my stuff and nothin\'.  Actually, I get audio, but there is no picture.  Now, I\'ve switched my component video from RGB to the other one.  (y/pb/pr or something like that...)  Anyone have a problem like this?  I\'ve tried it on TWO TVs..  A brand new Philips 27" and a very new big-screen Toshiba.  On the Toshiba, I got some very jarbled images that you couldn\'t really decipher.  On the Philips, I get nothin\'.  Just blackness with sound.  HELP!  Thank you so much... whoever you are...

Did you go into the PS2 system and change the display?

Yes... I think so.  You mean changing the RGB to the other option, correct?

did you try changing your TV and PS2 settings together to see if that helps.......I have 5 settings on my TV (Video 1, Video 2, Video3, Coax (channel 003->XXX), and Colorstream (Y/PB/PR (whatever the colors are)). I have a Toshiba BTW

In my TV manual, it says if the componenet video jacks are being used, it will come through Video1.  But when I switch to vid1 (or any other channel of input) there\'s no picture.  But like I said earlier, vid1 gives me sound with no picture, so I think it\'s the right input channel.  Thanks for the replies, btw.  :)
