a relaible one that actually rings when you receive a call and not once the caller has already left a voicemail.
Screw the phones..build more towers and transmitters. Dropped calls suck( I know thats kinda outta yer control)
Im basically fine the way phones are now. In fact I think there are wayy to many add-on bullchit now as it is. Next thing ya know..cells will be wiping our ass\' after dropping a duece!!!!

i love my Sony J6 ..bacuse you can sample WAV files as noises and Ring tones.
At the moment i have the Codec power up and Down sound for swithing it on or off
and i have the codec Ringing beep as me Ring Tone.
Now all i need it a Sneaking suit and a P90 and i can then "Take Care" of Quddus ;)

how about i get nokia (as if i could but anyway..) to close a deal with nintendo about combining a phone with the GBA, since mobile networks quickly is turning TCP/IP (packet switched) instead of the old circut switched. You can be online all the time and you pay for teh amount of data not uptime. Wireless online gameing with a GBA with pause function for incomming calls !

No matter how many features they add there is only one that you really use the phone for. To making freaking phone calls.
And cut out all the fancy ring crap. Make them all ring at low volume and/or vibrate. It bugs the shizit out of me when people have their ringers on loud as if they are going to be needing to hear the phone ring from across the street or something. The dang thing is about 3 feet from your ear people.
How about we make them not cause cancer. That would actually be one that I would be up for.

WHile I agree with the beginning of yer statement. I have to disagree with the ring tones. At work, we all have cell phones...6 of us. Out of the 6, 3 have 2 phones. We NEED to have several different ringers.
I also have to complain about the volume statement. We need to answer those incomming calls for business purposes and its hard to hear a phone ringing low when you have air compressors on alot of the time. Air tools going, a car running on the dyno..etc.
Same goes for women who have their phone inside of their purses...etc..etc..
Like I said earlier..phones dont need more crap...for a 150+ phone you get a fair amount of UNNEEDED CRAP!!! Now if the phone had better quality instead of a ton of crap for the same price, Id certainly be inclined to purchase at some of the higher price tags.

Stick the phone in your pocket and put it on vibrate with low volume ringer when I come to visit.:D

Heh, I actually prefer to have the phone on vib. The on I have tho does this. On vibrate only..its vibrates untill I answer it, then it says missed call. On vibrate then ring setting, it vibs once..rings once. No matter how fast I answer it, missed call. The only setting that works as advertised is ring only.
On that note..Ill be sure to turn it from 5-8 just for you!!!

Lightweight, text messaging, and clear signal.... That\'s all I want. Oh, and color screen. :)

for those all important color text messages huh?

I want a phone that makes outgoing calls only, and earns me money while using it.
I have 2 cell phones - a work phone and a personal phone. I hate them both. I\'m in electronic prison. I know I could simply turn them off, but my supervisor would have a fit, and the personal phone would be a similar situation.
Damn this technology! I\'m just waiting for a tracking device to be installed in my head.

*loves cell phones and doesn\'t care what you old bitter men say* :p

Well I\'m a big cell phone person. Hell Iceland even though it\'s a small place has the highest cell phone usage in the world, we beat out Finland sometime back. Everybody and their dog has a cellphone.
Anyhoo, I\'m a gadget freak, so cellphones with all the latest stuff are the thing for me. I\'ve used Nokia\'s almost exclusively. I like their design (mostly) and easy to use menu system.
However as I stated in your previous thread I plan on switching to a SonyEricsson with my next purchase, mostly because I just want to try something different for once.
Now for the stuff that is important to me:
Small
color screen (for new ones atleast)
vibrating alert
GPRS
a menu system that is responsive and can be navigated through with out too much trouble.
good feedback on the buttons, I want to feel the click when I press them.
durability (even though I get a new one all the time)
Anyhoo, this is what I could think of right now.

Yes, keep telling yourself that! :p
Here are my picks:
The menu system should be swift.
The phone should be lightweight.
Good response when using the buttons.
Color screen / good contrast / high res.
Long lasting battery. This is very important to me.
MP3 playback wouldn\'t hurt. :)
And for Gods sake can we get UTMS soon (I realize this isn\'t only the manufacturer\'s choice).

ohh your porn infested mind knows no bounds sammy

i just wanna be able to have a strong signal at all times, thats all i really care about... where i live out in the country most of the time i have "no service" it really pisses me off.
i could care less about anything else, although sending and recieving email is nice.

Usually thats due to the lack of transmitter towers rather than the phone itslelf.

Isnt the mobile phones we have today good enough realy ? I have a Siemens c30 or something like that... bought it for 20$ and it works just fine. U can send SMS, u can call out and u can even hear it when it rings. What more do u wish ? 32" widescreen on it ? And being able to have it as a cupholder for your beer on the pubs ? Mob phones just get more and more silly. If I have to buy a new one someday, Im going to buy one without all this extra crap on it.
-
i want mine to be a loving companion and not make fun of me when im depressed
oh and a vibrating alert ooooohhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaa!!!!!
-
A little function that lets you send text messages.. About 200-300 letters should be enough.. Oh and maybe the internet?
But lets make a crappy version.. Lets call it VVAP!
Make it look like the Text-TV on your TV!
-
As for cell phones, why don\'t you look at the cell phones in the Japanese market? They support i-mode (internet browsing), emails, digital pictures, digital movies, GPS navigation.. etc.. by digital pitures and movies, i mean there\'s a little camera on it where you can take pictures and movies and send them via email to others. The email feature is nice because it doesn\'t restrict you to just other users in the same network. The internet feature is nice because you can check up on weather, news, etc etc.. almost anything that\'s available on the net... and the LCD screens are 16million colors. I believe these are what, 3rd generation phones or something? Not sure which generation they were.
I\'m sure making the phones themselves isnt the biggest problem though.. Supporting the network and infrastructure to all these services becomes the biggest problems.

well i dont live in the states but still one thing is for sure its wont end up being 500 euros(btw my local currency is not euros) it will most probaly end up being around 1000$ ( without any plan) this is considering the 9210 was around 1000$ approx.(give or take 50$) when it first launched its now at around 700-750$ so now u see my problem:(.
-
OKAY.... I want my cell phone to be able to walk and talk on its own.. like Aibo or something. This is still in the plausible realm.
Outside of that realm, I\'d like my cell phone to allow me to fly, work as a metal detector, and also predict earthquakes. it\'d also be nice if it had a self exploding mechanism, and also work as a portable microwave.

I doubt it. The equivalent phone here in japan (and they\'ve been out for way more than a year now) were around $300USD when they came out. Now they run about $150 or less.
