Lol, France got their ass kicked by Senegal! 0-1!
-
seeing france get their ass kicked was so much fun
go senegal
-
I\'ve always felt senegal had it in them to go all the way.
I love the term "France got their ass kicked by Senegal! 0-1!"
Um, what would be a mild beating? Do they have half points and quarter points? I would think this would be a mild win. But then again I am a Gator fan and if we don\'t win by at least 30 I am pissed.
-
Yeah senegal way to go in showing the WORLD and European Champons how to play the game
:D
WOOT
GREAT GAME

Well, one would be hard pressed comparing American football and soccer (I assume the Gators is a footie team? ;)). Although 1 goal isn\'t a whole lot, it was more the way Senegal won. France are the world champs and yet they played pretty much like crap... I don\'t think it was expected that Senegal would win. :)

I find it hard that you believed that Senegal have it in them to go all the way if you actually think there are "Half points" in soccer.

Well....though a shocker...it pales in comparison to the US losing to Iran back in \'98.
-
not really, usa have never been any good at soccer while france are regning world champions ;)

When there\'s bad blood between the two nations, it\'s a big deal. Especially when the Iranian and American people have their heart into the game. It was a heart breaker for the Americans....and a week\'s worth of celebrations for the Iranians.
-
Haha, France lost, that\'s so great.
And, no, the American loss to Iran really wasn\'t that big. We suck at soccer, so no one really cared. France is a very good soccer country, and it is a lot bigger there than here. USA and caring a great deal about soccer, sadly, do not go together.
-
good news for us.
-
You have to admit, it was on the cards from the beginning. Losing to Belgium, then scrauping a win against S. Korea and now this.
They\'ll come apart against a strong attacking side, even WITH Zidane. And add to that, the inevitable blunder/gaffe/balls-up that that clown Barthez will obviousley make (a la Man U against Arsenal......remember?), things aren\'t looking so rosey.
Trust me, they won\'t win the championship. It\'s not certain that they will progress to the knockout stages.
If by some miracle they DO finish top, and assuming England finish 2nd, they will meet in the knockout.
Imagine that p1ss-poor French defence trying to handle Owen, he\'ll run \'em ragged.

In "football" 1-0 is an asskicking
Senegal practically bent france over
-
I don\'t see how 1-0 can be an asskicking, simply for the fact that had one few second period happened differently, it\'s a tie. I\'d think that for it to be a real asskicking, there should be at least a 2 goal lead at the end, or for most of the ending portion of the game.
-
ya whatever, It was just a joke about how low scoring "football" is:p
-
maybe because for evey goal, we get one, what do you yankys get when you score about 6?, i dunno.
-
I wouldn\'t exactly say that Senegal spanked France... it was more the fact that France should have won, but didn\'t. They can blame Petite and Barthez for that... they practically gave the ball to the guy scoring. Oh, and the fact they didn\'t really seem \'up to it\', so to speak, nor did they score, didn\'t exactly help either. :)

Indeed. :)
And Koping, I don\'t think Senegal played all that great either. They had one goal - mostly because of Petit and Barthez... I agree that Diouf played pretty good though. But France should have won... or at least scored. Senegal weren\'t that impressive IMO.

Your football games are alot longer....It s real fun watching 90 minutes of game to see one score.
Americans want constant action, thats why they have little interest in soccer, and why the U.S. team is poor, because my chidrent want to go play nfl, nba, while kids from other countries all flock to "football"

Heh, well, don\'t you just get a tad pissed when you get your asses kicked 62 to 24 in the National Title Game? Ah yes, now THAT would suck ;)
See Yuz.

Actually it IS fun... at least if there\'s something at stake... say the World Cup or just your fav. league. Besides, with relatively few goals it gets interesting - each goal counts! And when you\'re ahead, say 2-1, at there are just a few minutes left, you\'re just sitting on the edge hoping the other team won\'t score - then their attacking becomes very interesting. Likewise if your team is behind, you\'re just rooting for them to score. Every goal is important and just because they don\'t score every minute, doesn\'t mean it\'s not entertaining.
Watching two great teams battle eachother is amazing.

Sounds impressive, but remember, they were only playing the Saudi\'s. Wait and see how impressive it sounds when Cameroon stick 10 past em.
-
I dont usually watch footy that often.. But now when the World Cup is on I watch every game (if I have the time)
I want to re-live the summer of 1994!
*sniff*
1-1 between Sweden and England is a good start! :)
-
wel i like it not being very high score games,i mean like 20-19 etc, of course i like to see goals, but what makes them so goo, is that as goals are not done every minute, most goals, or t least some of them are very special......
i think football is done on chances taken, while a sport like basketball is lost on chances missed... if you know what i mean
samwise, i know they werent great, but i meant they worked very hard to win, i think france underestimated them...
