God I hate the LAKES, especially kobe, that ****ing loser!
Ok I guess its on to game 7, if only Divac could have stayed out of foul trouble.

The game was terrible. The calls were so lopsided it was sad. Worst game I\'ve ever seen officiating wise. Hell you could even elbow a guy in the face, well if you were a laker player.

Boohoo, all I gots to say is those refs won me five bucks, not much, but its more than I had before the game.

Ok, some games calls were bad both ways but this was a disgrace to sports, a slap to fans faces. The worst officiating I\'ve ever seen. The announcers knew it, kings fans knew it, basketball fans knew it, and so did all the lakers fans.

Bill walton (a Laker fan) noticed that the refs blew calls on the Kings 7 times, but only once for the lakers. that last play where Kobe elbowed Bibby was the worst no call in nba playoff history. If u watch the tape, the ref was looking right at them, and didn\'t do jack sh!t. but oh well, sh!t happens, bring on game 7.

Im sad I had to miss the game, but judging from these posts, Im glad I missed it. Nothing I hate more than bad officiating. SOmetimes I think the should be no officials in ANY sport. Just let these guys go out and play!!!

It was a good game IMO. It stayed close the whole way.. I don\'t think anyone ever lead by more than 10.

There has been so much talk on the radio about unfair refing and 100% of it has been refering to LA. Either that\'s what everyone is watching and they jus tpick that up or something is really up. You know the NBA wants the Lakers in.. You know they want a game 7. Gimme a break. I can\'t watch that crap anymore. It\'s so messed up.

To deny that the Lakers won a lopsided contest is pretty retarded. The Lakers shot over 20 free throws in the 4th quarter alone. The Kings had less than half that. Another thing that I saw that was odd, neither Shaq or Kobe got into foul trouble. Meanwhile, the Kings got their two best big men in serious foul trouble and Vlade fouled out.
Im glad this is going back to Sacramento, they know how to call a good game. Game 5 was easily the best game of the series.

Whoever wins the series cant really say they were the better team, thanks to the poor officiating, worst I have ever seen.

Admit that the calls were a little lopsided in the game. Did you see the obviously blatant elbow to Bibby from Bryant? I KNOW the ref saw that, so where was the foul?

I guess refrees are trying to do some home court advantage with their fouls, which is pathetic, shouldnt the fans be enough for home court advantage?
I guess the NBA is tired of the away team winning all the time so this is their way of turning it around...

The last 10-15 minutes were the biggest load of BS I\'ve ever seen. It was constant fouling. Once someone got a foul 8 milliseconds after another foul ended. Total BS.

I really haven\'t been watching much of the series (Games are too late for my taste, meh), but I got to see last night\'s game, and I really wanted to throw up. I\'m sorry, but anyone who can get away with throwing violent elbows and having the opponent in the vacinity of the elbow throwing gets the Technical, and who can blatantly elbow somebody in the ****ing nose when the ref is lookign right at it, and have the foul called on the person on the recieving end of the blow, well, something\'s up. (Longest. Sentence. Ever.)
Kobe Bryant doesn\'t play the game the way it was meant to be played. He is making his claim as one of the more dirtier players of all time, up there with John Stockton and Karl Malone, just for his antics in this series ALONE.
Shaq...he throws his elbow right into somebody\'s chest, and the person on the recieving end gets called with the foul? The number of fouls called on people guarding Shaq to the total Fouls on Shaq himself? 20 to 4. 20 fouls to 4 fouls. That\'s a disgrace.
If There wasn\'t any officiating bias in last year\'s Eastern Conference Finals with the Bucks and Sixers, then there is blatant officiating bias here, and I\'m convinced there was officiating bias in that Sixers Bucks series.
I\'m sorry, but this is the most extreme case of officiating bull**** I have seen in quite some time. Bibby can get absolutely mauled by Fisher, lose the ball, and Kobe goes up for a layup, doesn\'t get touched, the foul is called on the 2 guys who are guarding, but not touching Kobe. It\'s just sad.

Yeah, some calls last night were pretty debatible, but you have to admitt, this was a payback for what the refs did to Shaq up in Sacramento.
Shaq can get away with his elbow\'s cause of his footwork. As long as his feet aren\'t inside his defender, he\'s good. That\'s just natural talent. There isn\'t anyone in the league who can guard him, period. All they can do is foul (not to mention, he shot 13-17ft) and flop, nuff said.
Sometimes you gotta play dirty, the kings do w/ Webber. He\'s one the dirtest. And didn\'t you see the Kings starting to get into personal fights? You gotta accept playoff aggression, you can\'t be a puss when it comes to this. This is where they seperate the men from the boys. Cry if you will, but the ones who suck it up at the end are the ones who win.
It\'s wonderful seeing people cheer for the Kings cause they are such a hyped up team, that thinks they have some sort of swager or something. Wrong. They claim they are the better team in the series and that they can defeat the Lakers w/o trying much. Apparently, I guess they "forgot to read the paper or something" after LA won their second consecuative championship. You don\'t have the right to talk smack or act like you have a championship ego til you\'ve won it. Bulls were able to, cause they won six titles in the 90\'s. Having the best record in the league doesn\'t justify having championship swager. It wasn\'t like they had the best record ever, that\'d be the Bulls going 72-10.

Did you see game five? Shaq only drew one defensive foul on vlade pollard. The referees are calling most of their terrible fouls in favor of the home team.

Oh my god. I would be getting flamed if I were to complain about the Kings officiating (or lack there of). Ok, the Lakers shot 25 free throws... THATS A FIRST IN THIS SERIES. Almost all the calls went to Sacramento in Game 5. Thats basketball, when your at home, you get your calls.
Stop crying. Bring on Game 7.
And yes Kobe did foul Bibby, but it could have been prevented if Bibby didn\'t "hook" Kobe.. He basically hooked his arm around Kobe\'s waist so Kobe couldn\'t break free.

Yes, that "footwork"...Bill Walton was pointing out how he would dribble, stop, then dribble again. They usually call that a traveling violation, but you know, whatever ;)

Just got this from ESPN. I suggest all of the "crybabies" sit and read it, it\'s from one of the best basketball writers out there.
From someone who is simply grateful for such a stirring series, calls have gone both ways throughout the series, including those when a defender has stuck his mug in the chest of the offensive player. Defend anyone that close and you risk getting clocked. Exactly how close you are in the eyes of the official will determine whether it\'s an offensive foul, a blocking charge, or, in a last-second situation, a no-call, since the referees don\'t want a 50-50 play decided at the free-throw line.
Hell, even Chris Webber makes a great point.
"It\'s just the reality of the matter," said Webber. "I\'ve heard from some champions that to get to be a champion, you have to go through this."
Stop crying. Thats basketball. Sh:t happens. Time for Game 7.

The race at Indy sucked, but Paul was behind Helio when the yellow came out, unlike the NBA they can use replays and Helio, even though he dont deserve it IMO, Alex Zanardi even said Paul was the true winner (not because he was in front when it was green, but because he was in overtaking him when the caution came out)
Any bump that happen in NASCAR havent decided the winner, last time I remember it decided the winner was when Earnhardt spun out labonte at bristol a few years back.

The dirty people in that play were the officials, who didnt call it, if it was a foul. + that was a small "foul" you just got to let those things go.

He might not let it go b/c you are misinformed. Jordan did play borderline dirty to dirty at times and he got away with it b/c of who he was.

refs do infact decide games at times. I was watching a regular season bulls game a few years ago. The ref called a foul(which didnt happen) against someone guarding scottie pippen. Bulls would have lost that game if not for both of scotties FT\'s. After the foul shots..ball was inbounding...tossed down court..buzzer went off right b4 NY was able to get a shot off.

And you don\'t think at some point earlier in the game there was a call that went against the Bulls unfairly? It all evens out in the end, it\'s just some fouls stand out more. Besides, if the team deserved to win so much, they would have had enough between them that one call doesn\'t make that difference.
Was the officiating bad last night? Yes. Did it decide the game? No.

also it evens out? It hasn\'t yet, this is the worst officiated series ever. My god man, it has made news across the freak\'n globe. Everyone nba fan on the planet is talking about it. Did anyone make as big of a deal about any other series ever? No, do you think there might be a reason for that?

Yes, there is a reason for that. LA actually is that good, and people don\'t want to accept it. They deserved to win, and they did. Quit whining about the past, and look ahead to today\'s game 7.

Ah man I was gonna say that. shockwaves didn\'t watch the entire game, therefore he has no business talking about how the game wasn\'t decided by the refs. If Bryant would\'ve been called for the two tech\'s that he deserved he wouldn\'t have made those free throws that clinched the game for LA. Bibby would\'ve went to the line, made the free throw, Kings ball out with 20 seconds to go.
Oh and the "accidental elbows" riiiiiight. Bibby didn\'t hook Kobe until Kobe went across his body and elbowed him in the nose, then Bibby was just trying to stay up. I don\'t get how someone can be knocked out basically and get the foul called on them.
Game 7 better have the best damn officials the NBA has.

I still think that it is rediculous to think in any situation that some bad calls are the reason that a team lost the game. I think the play of the Lakers, and the play of the Kings had something to do with it too... :rolleyes:

NO How are the Kings supposed to win when 2 of their players are out for B.S. calls. That right there hurt their play. The only reason the game was even close at the end is because the Kings outplayed them the whole game. The calls were what decided the game. Atleast TRY to backup that comment.

You want me to back my comment up? Fine. The Lakers shot a higher percentage than the Kings, both from the field and from the line. If the Lakers had shot their FTs at the same percentage that the Kings did, the Kings would have won by one point. If the Kings had shot at the same clip the Lakers did from the field, the game would have been tied. Oh, the Lakers also out rebounded the Kings. And despite the horrible calls people are complaining about in the fourth, the Lakers only outscored the Kings by 4 in the quarter. That means it was tied going in. The Lakers were playing at least even with the Kings the whole game. You say the bad calls were 2nd quarter on? Then why did the Lakers outscore the Kings in the first? The idea that the refs made all this happen is insane. The Lakers won this, the Kings lost it.

See thats good and all but don\'t you think the Kings would have scored more and the Lakers score less if Divak was still in. But of course he wasn\'t because of all the terrible calls on him. That dismisses everything you said. And if you minus out all those free throws by the Lakers because of the calls the Kings would of won. Or add in the technical shots for Kobe elbowing Bibby in the face on purpose. Two shots and the ball.

I\'m not denying that those calls changed the game and really hurt the Kings. I\'m just saying that they could have won despite them, but they didn\'t. They play of the teams has a lot more to do with the outcome than the calls that were made.

But why was the game that close? Because the teams were playing evenly. That makes me wonder why you think that the Kings deserved the game so much.
Regardless of what "should" have happened, the fact is that the series is 3-3. A win is a win, no matter how you get it. Game 7 is tonight, that\'s all that matters.
And this time, I think the Kings have a bit of added motivation.

Kings also have never expirenced a Game 7 in the Conference Finals before, let lone the Lakers have, and had won a Game 7 w/ a 15 point defecit.
I\'m not eliminating the Kings from a victory, because these are the types of situations each competitor thrives for, the situation where people learn and become better players. Game 7\'s are won by superstars. These are the shinning moments of a superstar\'s career.
Kings have home floor, their home crowd, it\'s their home. They claim they play better on the road, which has proven true, but the Lakers also believe they play better on the road. Lakers haven\'t been blown out of Arco in a long time, they\'ve only lost by 10 or less. I guarentee you that Kobe and Shaq are going to get their games started early on, and then work on their supporting cast. If they want to start off on the right foot, feed Shaq immediately in the 1st quarter early in the shot clock.
What really makes it a diffuclt challenge is that if Kobe doesn\'t strike blood the 1st quarter, he\'ll usually make up for it in the 2nd.
If the Kings get the calls and manage to shoot between 45-50% from the field and use picks wisely, I think they have a solid chance at victory.
BUT, again, if Shaq was as aggressive as he was in Game 6, expect rude awakening.
And I hope the Laker\'s bench aren\'t outscored by Kobe again either :evil:

Does Shockwaves understand that even though the Lakers had higher fg% and ft%, the game revolved around that final no call? Let\'s throw out the many, many other bad calls during the game, let\'s even throw out the fact that they lost their two centers on BS calls, that final elbow, if called would have changed the game. And if during the game one more shooting foul was called in favor of the Kings, or one less for the Lakers, the Kings would have won. End of story.

I would never agree with that. One call will never decide a game. If your team deserves to win, you don\'t put yourselves in a position where one call can lose it for you. A game never centers around a call.

If your going to cry over one your two calls you never had what it takes to play the game in the first play.

Oh well. Game over. I hate the Lakers even more. The refs did a decent job, made some bad calls both ways. Only one thing i didnt like though. When Webber got called for a technical when he clapped his hands and yelled "Call the foul" to the ref. Then in the closing seconds Kobe fouls Bibby when Bibby was going to the ball. I mean, it was a fould, anyone could see it. He complains about it for like 10 seconds. No tech. Jesus. Bibby makes both FT\'s though.
And you guys that doubted Mike Bibby...hah.

well I am still quite pissed, this was the worst day I\'ve had in years. I really need some type of alcohol. The only thing that made feel better was I went to the local play ground, and straight ran two guys, I hit 9 treys in a row, and was feeling it from every area on the court. I just wish that the Kings were hit\'n as much as I was. The best part about it was this guy came out to gaurd me on the arc, and I took him with a cross over and he sprained his ankle, however that was the end of game.
Well enough about my game, now on to the Kings. This was quite honestly a very well oficiated game, game 6 was given to the Lakers, but the Kings simply lost this one. If I was Rick Adelman I would have free throw drills tomarrow at 7am, f*ck the offseason. However I am now giving my undivided support to the Nets, who were oddly enough picked by me at the beggining of the season. If only the Kings won I would have been completly right with my picks at the start of the seaon.

Hating the Lakers has absolutely nothing to do with the underdog status, at least for me. 1st year they won it, I didn\'t like Kobe, didn\'t like Shaq, and I wanted Portland to get in. They didn\'t. I also wanted to see the Pacers win it, they didn\'t.
Last year was no real contest for the Lakers, and that sucked even more. I ended up rooting for them in the finals simply because they had Tyron Lue and I absolutely hate Allen Iverson anyway, so there you go.
I stil can\'t stand Kobe, I still can\'t stand Shaq, I still can\'t stand with what they get away with, it sickens me. Hell, out here, I talk to casual Lakers fans, and even they agree that what they\'ve gotten away with during that last series with Sacramento was total bull****...pretty amazing coming from them, they are very stubborn people...
Anyway, I will never like the Lakers. I will always hate Kobe...I have a soft spot for Shaq, being that he\'s the one doing ALL of the work down low for the Lakers, and Kobe, taking 26 jumpers a game and making 10 of them, gets just as much, if not more credit than Shaq. Kobe\'s a whiner, a ballhog, and quite frankly, not as much of a team player that everybody makes him out to be. Same goes with Paul Pierce, he\'s one of the main reasons why the Nets are in the finals with the Lakers, and the Celtics aren\'t.

Personally, to be honest, I like Shaq. He\'s funny, and he has fun playing the game. That\'s what players should be like. Liked Kansas only this year? Shows are much of an idiot you are. I\'ve liked Kansas since I started to care about bball. That was sometime around 1997. When they lost once during the regular season, lost to U of A in the tournament. They had Jacque (sp?) Vaughn, Paul Pierce, Scot Pollard, and LaFrentz in their starting rotation. Don\'t assume things you don\'t know by saying I just started liking Kansas. Oh yeah, it kinda easy to start liking a team at a young age when you have parents from Kansas who cheer for them too.

"At a time when the public\'s confidence is shaken by headlines reporting the breach of trust by corporate executives, it is important, during the public\'s relaxation time, for there to be maintained a sense of impartiality and professionalism in commercial sports performances," the letter said. "That sense was severely broken . . . during Game 6."
The Lakers shot 27 free throws in the fourth quarter and scored 16 of their final 18 points at the foul line in a 106-102 victory. Lakers guard Kobe Bryant\'s elbow to Mike Bibby\'s nose that was not called a foul with less than 20 seconds left "prompted many fans to start wondering about what was motivating these officials," the letter said.
