yeah, thats right, I\'ve got to got into hospital on Friday to have a swollen tonsil removed. I have got to check in at 7:30 am!!!
Once it is removed I have to wait for biopsy results to make sure it isn\'t cancerous!
I am not looking forward to the pain afterwards, the only good thing is that the doctor has said I will need 2 weeks off work to recover. Plenty of time to play Final Fantasy X I suppose.
-
damn ma thats bad. i should get my tonsils removed, as i used to get sore throats a lot....... but beer has numbed all the pain..
hope you get better,
the older you are when they get removed the more painful it is.. and you love the next morning, when you wake up with dry blood in your troat

You sure know how to spend your time wisely

-
Good luck, man! :)
-
Yeah hope you are ok. I have only had a tonsil infection once, so theres no need for mine to be out yet. Stay happy dude
-
Codine! Yummy!!!111:D
Don\'t worry man, you\'ll be beack to your normal self in just a week or so. Peace.
-
My friend just had appendicitis. I hope you feel better and good luck.
-
Just be glad you aren\'t getting your wisdom teeth taken out, that hurts like a ***** later that day. Plus your cheeks swell up like a chipmunk heh.

If you are fully matured getting your tonsils out hurts way more. People just dont think that because the tonsils are usually removed early in life if they are removed at all.

aaaawww poor baby
man i would do that again just for the vicatin
-
i hear that!
gettin my wisdom teeth out was GREAT!
-
It was probably bad for me because I had other teeth taken out too and they were bleeding all that night and the next morning. I had my tonsils out about 10 years ago and it wasn\'t bad, but you\'re probably right about being older hurts more.
Oh and uh the doctors or whatever didn\'t give me vicatin, that kinda sucks....
-
Great, just great. The dentist said i\'ll probably have to get my wisdom teeth pulled eventually. Arr. Oh well, lots of ice cream for me.

man i dont know if youve ever been drunk before but when you wake up after get them pulled you have blackouts and drift in and out of conciousness while standing just like after drinking way too much
after i got mine pulled my mom took me to walgreens and blockbuster to get my drugs and some movies cause i took a few days off of work and she said i was wandering up and the aisles staring at random things with a mouthfull of bloody gauze she said it was one of the funniest shes ever seen but she was too embarrased to laugh
-
i know it!
i had to take my ex-girlfriend to get hers taken out. it was the greatest thing ever.
same as jar, i was watching this 90 pound asian girl stumble into the displays at blockbuster, knocking over dolls, and then she finally decided she wanted to see "dumbo"
HAHAHAHA!
then we came home and i played video games while she went on and on about space and how we need to go there more often.
man that was a great day
of course i took a couple vicodins too.

Good luck with the surgury, I hope it goes well.
I\'m just posting because I wanted to point out something else. I\'ll bet you are from Canada or the United Kingdom, or some other commonwealth country, right? I can tell because you wrote "I\'ve got to got into hospital." People from those countries always leave out the article with the word Hospital. Instead of saying "I\'m going into the[/i] Hospital," they say "I\'m going into Hospital." It doesn\'t make sense to me.

what the hells that gotta do with anything??? i come from england and i would say i gotta go to the hospital.....or maybe sometimes going to hosptial.... does it really matter
-
ya im from canada and ive never heard anyone skip out on adding "the" to a phrase like that......i think maybe he just mistyped it.....or maybe he\'s already into the painkillers.....
-
I\'ve spent lots of time in Canada, and I\'ve spent a little time in the UK, and I\'ve watched lots British television and movies, and don\'t tell me it\'s my imagination. It\'s a pattern. If you don\'t notice it, that\'s because you\'re too close to it.
-
your just entering the hospital and i am just leaving...... Yesterday i broke my finger playing rugby and now i can\'t do much with it for like 4-6 weeks. At least it was the last game of the season.

I can tell the difference between saying "the" and not saying it. Im here 24/7 and around these people every day and i can assure you that we say "the"! So unless you hang around a bunch of inbred hicks and watch hillbilly movies i think you are incorrect.

Oh man, there\'s no point in arguing about this dude. I just have to remind myself that one day later in life you\'ll suddenly realize that everything I said is true, and you\'ll say to yourself "by god, Coredweller was right!" :) :)
I know what I heard when I was in Ontario, and it was not spoken by any hick. I heard this on the CBC, so it\'s supposed to be considered "intellectual-speak." Maybe in Canada you\'re the hick. ???? Actually I don\'t think so because it\'s correct to use an article with the noun "hospital." Omitting the article sounds way too snooty.
-
**** man dont shove this bs down my throat, I know we have argued about "aboot" and "about" and i understand why i miss the fact that we say it different because its a "sound" of the word. BUT I CANT MISS HEARING A WHOLE ****ING WORD IN A SENTENCE. I dont care if we even say "the" differently i know we say it infront of nouns. I\'m going to the store. Im going to the hockey game. I\'m going to pick my mom up from the hospital. And trust me i have to say that last one a lot as my mom works at the hospital......so does my grandma, Im around the hospital a lot. I hear people talk about it a lot, and i can disciphere missing or added words in a sentence.
Im sorry if i sound pissed off but i am.....I cant stand ignorance.

Getting wisdom teeth out ain\'t THAT bad.. I had 3 out at one time.. Your whole face hurts after the numbness dies down, but most of the pain should be gone overnight. All you gotta deal with is trying to find something to eat and the yummy taste of blood.

Hey be cool man, it\'s all in good fun. I\'m not making this up, and I am serious about it, but I still find it funny. I\'ll take your word for it that people in your town or province or whatever always use "the" with the word "hospital." I know what I heard though. It\'s only with the word hospital that people omit the article. Not those other ones you said like hockey game and store. I\'ll see if I can find some proof for you. Czech you later.

OK check out these links:

[hit F and search for the word hospital, and you\'ll see the reference]

These are all references to the omission of "the" in British English, not Canadian. Therefore I\'m willing to concede that maybe the practice is not prevalent in Canada in general. However, I know I heard it on the CBC, so maybe they were trying to emulate the English they considered to be the best, and distance themselves from United States english. That wouldn\'t surprise me from the CBC. :)

ya we call our pants knickers and have tea and biscuits every day at 3:30 sharp too.....
-
man i cant believe your getting so pi$$ed about someone putting the word the, before or missing it out...........
ok i see what your saying, but it may be cos we think of it as a hospita, rather than the hospital.. maybe that what it is

Yeah thanks, I\'m back by the way and my throat hurts like hell.
I can\'t believe all the BS in this post. I typed the thread as it would be typed here in the UK.
It\'s like us brits complaining about the americans spelling the world "colour" wrong or "neighbour" or stupid things like that.
-
Aw, just ignore the dumb comments. Glad you\'re back. How\'d it go? Didn\'t you say that the docs had to check for cancer or something?

This one? You are wrong though. The italians and english sound different because they have accents. I don\'t.
-
You probably didn\'t miss anything, nevermind. I just thought you were the one who claimed everyone had an accent, and Vid was the one opposing you. Nevermind.
Btw, why does everyone abbreviate my name as "Cored?" I don\'t get it. If you think of it as two words, it\'s CORE-DWELLER, which should be abbreviated Core , I think. Just wondering. I think when I get my avatar, I\'m going to ask MM to change my name anyway. I don\'t use this on any other forums.

Yes you do, everyone does. Do you think that when an english person talks to another engish person they think they sound weird?

No, because they both have accents. But when they talk to me or anyone else who has no accent they realize how funny they sound. Actually the english accent is pretty cool. As long as it\'s not harsh. I like the South African the most.

man this is gonna be that other accent thread all over again......
when I talk to another canadian and they supposedly say "aboot" i do not notice it, because I am canadian and am used to it i guess. When i talk to americans(And i have a lot), I do not all of the sudden realize i am saying "about" "aboot" i contiue to say it "aboot". Just like if you were talking to an english person. They would not suddenly realize they have an accent, they would continue to talk the way they always have, and so would you. Americans do have accents, everyone does, that include you Vid:)
-
Hehehehe, you say aboot.

Went ok, had two sleepless nights in a rock hard hospital bed. Glad to be home. Very difficult to eat at the moment but hopefully pain should ease off over next few days. Got to wait two weeks now for the biopsy results.

glad to see that your doing well Kurt:).

Way to get the topic back...
Glad you are doing better at home. Hospitals are the absolute worst places to rest. Nurses coming in every hour to check your temperature and crap. Ugh. The least they could do is touch you in your happy place.
-
yeah hope all is well man!!!
