OMFG Morrowind is great.

It\'s SLIGHTLY like GTA3 in terms of gameplay, but is pretty much a single-player classic RPG set in exotic(beatiful) landscapes.  Time is unknown, nor does it matter.

Pretty much you start off, create your character, race, class(you can create), minor details of your figure, plus and minuses, skills, name, etc.  Beyond that, you "join" clubs, and these councils, clubs, guilds, etc. will give you missions to perform.  Upon doing these you will move up in the rankings, and people will like you more.  Many factors influence gameplay, many of them under your control.

Along the way you will encounter monsters, sadly to say though, it isn\'t much of a battle system, especially if a hand-to-hand warrior.  I\'m an Archer/Dagger thrower, so it can be fun trying to kill from a distance.

This is truly a must have for any RPG fan though, I consider it to be the ultimate RPG.

I haven\'t taken the XBox plunge yet, but if this game is all that people are making it out to be, it may be the motivation that I need.  The price drop certainly sweetens the deal.

There still seem to be quite a few people who endlessly debate which console is better, blah blah blah...  I have never given a sh!t about stats.  I for one think this is a GREAT time to be a gamer.  I don\'t know how anyone could possibly b!tch about anything with all the choices we have as far as consoles and games.

Morrowind isnt for everyone.
If u like Diablo like RPGs... and find it boring to read the story... dont even consider this game.  Read this review, explains very well what this game is about:

Did I mention how damn great the music in this game is ?? Here is one of the tracks...

The game is great. Of course there are some minor bugs (it`s a PC game afterall) ,but the world and the freedom is great.
And that game is huge ! Just look at the map that comes with the collectors edition. You can spend hours exploring just one hill next to the first village (3 dungeons)
Someone know Gothic ? It`s similar in many ways.

minor problems? all over the internet including the forum at http://www.elderscrolls.com are immensly pissed at how many bugs there are. Not to mention how many people had trouble getting the game properly set up on their PC. This is coming from people with pentium 4\'s, GeForce 4\'s, and a ton of ram. A large sum of people think the game was rushed out the door =\\

The game needs a patch badly in some areas.

I won\'t be booting morrowind again until the patch is realeased.

my PC: dell ws530-xeon 1.7, nVidia Quadro2 pro 64MB, 512 Mb RDRAM, 80 GB 7200 HDD. my gameplay at 1024x768: huge loading times, glitches when camera moves, every 4-5 steps a 1 sec freeze until something is loaded. not-so-good eh?

Well, I have played games with much more problems than Morrowind (Ultima IX is still nr1, Gothic, Messiah,Aquanox..the list goes on)
Considering my ancient setup ,it runs pretty well .When I read the reviews I thought it wouldn`t run at all. As long as it don`t destroys my savegames like Gothic, I´m happy.

I got it (pc version).

I only got off the boat where you pick your class, no problems yet though. I will play it this weekend.

Ath 1600+
512 Pc 2100 ram
GeForce 4 ti4400 (128mb)
Win XP
:)

After getting a 8760 benchmark (NO overclocking at all), I decided to install a game and test my card under real situations.

A yes or no would have done mm:rolleyes: ;)

Well, the last computer games I played were on the C64, and back then I used a joystick (that\'s what they were called--before "game pad").

....So I either go through the keybrd-mouse learning curve or use a pad for primary controls.

I picked up a cheap ass Gravis pad.
