Sega has announced that it\'s currently working on a version of its arcade brawler for the Xbox that will be called Spike Out Extreme. The game is currently in development at Amusement Vision and it will support online play through the Xbox Live service. Sega says that the original Spike Out, which was released in 1998, is still an incredibly popular game, and that the Xbox is the most adequately equipped to handle a faithful console port.
Sweet now this is good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy amazing ports Batman! The XBox can handle a faithful console port of a game from 1998 ? That\'s friggin\' amazing!
Kudos to Sega for truly taking advantage of the Xbox with a game from 1998..

OMG, Spike Out and Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball...
I\'m all up in arms on which to get!!!
I don\'t quite understand the statement about Xbox being the most adequately equiped console...the best board that was available from Sega back then was a Model 3 Step 2 board. I\'m sure any console could handle that...

Whatever happened to SuperDodgeBall? I think it\'s on GBA but I want it on PS2 or Xbox.
-
Clip, to Spikeout\'s defense, it was on the Model 3 step 2 board. 1 Million polygons with no slowdown, anti-aliasing, loads of effects, etc. Some of the Model 3 games still look good today, even in comparing like titles. Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, meet Jedi Starfighter.
This is not to say that this won\'t be improved, since it WILL. THis isn\'t Acclaim or EA, btw, they HAVE to improve it, otherwise it is just a waste of time, because it would take a couple months for a sraight port + online play.

Truley great news for the P-Box....... Its getting so many great ports but I dont have the money for a X-Box although I do have a PC and enough money for the other past systems.
Too bad for me :(
