"Stone Cold Steve Austin walks
On March 18, 2002, the day after WrestleMania, without company approval and without notice, Stone Cold Steve Austin walked off the job and failed to appear at WWE’s Raw show in Montreal. Stone Cold Steve Austin was advised by WWE management that this was unprofessional and unacceptable. After a two week hiatus, Austin returned to work.
On Monday, June 10, 2002, Stone Cold Steve Austin again failed to appear for the scheduled Raw event in Atlanta, instead choosing to return home to San Antonio without notice and without company approval.
Although Steve was unhappy with his character’s creative direction, Steve made the personal and unprofessional decision not to report to work to address his concerns.
Therefore, Stone Cold Steve Austin is no longer an active member of WWE’s talent roster."

I\'m not sure how this will play out. I\'m not really much if a Stone Cold fan, so I don\'t care all that much.
-
wrestling is dead...
-
Austin = big bucks so I dont think he\'ll get fired anytime soon.
-
Um, but he was.
-
Meh? I thought he was just "suspended" or something, and it was gonna play out like what happened after wrestlemania. Well whatever.
-
Basically, he didn\'t like what "directions" his character was going in. So he skipped work without telling anybody. Remember how he would usually dissapear after pay-per-views for a couple of weeks, and then show up again? Well, he did that on his own, and the company got sick of it and let him go. There is going to be a story about it on the next Confidential.
-
Austin may be one of the all time greats, but his character was dead..
*waits for Brock Lesnar vs. Rob Van Dam at some point in the future*
-
Yeah Stone Cold used to be my favorite wrestler 2 or 3 years ago. Back when he 0wned everyone. Ahh...good times. Then the Rock started to get most of the attention...wrestling started to fade from my interests. So who are the big dogs now?

Ric Flair and Hogan  oh well.. at least they are slowly fading away..
actually, the title shot at King of the Ring is Undertaker defending it against HHH
HHH is probably the biggest of the big dogs... then Kurt Angle )although that Edge rivalry downgraded him i feel) and Undertaker..
Jericho is pretty high up as well, and Booker T will be there soon enough
BAH! and Kevin Nash and HBK\'s return..
-
HHH has been up there forever. He must have a good character.
I never liked Angle, bah, i might not if i watched it but i\'d probably get bored.
Does Kane still wrestle?
-
Kane is on a break, he\'s gonna come back with a new gimmick
And Angle is the best talent that the WWE has.. he has been consistantly in the best matches for pretty much every PPV recently (even though the last two he has been up against Edge), his storylines are always the best, hes hilarious, best in ring performer..
[rumour that im not 100% sure is true]
plus he recently beat Brock Lesnar in an inpromtu amateur wrestling match.. which prompted him to start amateur training again and try to win at the next Olympics.. which means WWE\'s best talent will be gone.. :(
[rumour that im not 100% sure is true]

Good. I\'m a little shocked that they went through with it, but this is what I wanted.
Fire his slow, aging, unprofessional, ungrateful ass. He thinks he\'s better than the business? Thinks he\'s better than the other guys? Apparently he thinks he\'s even better than all those who pay to watch him.
Well guess what, Stone Cold. What? You\'re not.
What?

I can understand why he did it. He\'s probably frustrated that what his character\'s doing doesn\'t make any sense. I don\'t think he should have been fired though.
You know Bob I\'m just not interested in Lesnar in the least. I guess I\'m tired of the "imperiously-tough-super-strong-guy-angle" b/c it\'s been played to death.
You want me to watch the next PPV? Put HBK and SCSA in the ring and you can have my $30.

He hasnt done that since he was taking on the Hardyz, BBRay has been kicking his ass (:().. what i like about him is that he is talented, fast, big, and has a wide range of big moves.. which.. he has stopped doing (like most people) :(

I like the fact that he doesn\'t hulk up, his character is tough but isn\'t impervious to pain. Also he usually breaks out a new move once a match.
also he performs simple moves with power, and athority.

He got old anyway. Austin sucks nowadays. I\'d rather see Booker T do the SPINAROONIE! SPINAROONIE! SPINAROONIE! sucka...
-
Austin is the reason allot of people got into WWF, I really think this is a dumb move, there ratings are going to suffer. I really cant beleave it.

wwe.com-Ross Report (http://www.wwe.com/news/rossreport/)
The above link shows an intresting read written by J.R. earlier. I guess it wasn\'t Stone Cold getting fired, he just quit. Again, I was kinda getting bored with his character, so I don\'t care either way. But still an intresting read.
-
I smell MAJOR Comeback....I think this is all a Work (a Planned angle) and him and someone else will come in....maybe Bichoff.......JR and Vince are going to talk about Austin on Confidential at 11:00 on TNN on Saturday night, was ross said on the ross report this week he sid it will be a HUGE segment totally candid!
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:

I don\'t even care about wrestling, but
Did it occur to anyone that this "firing" or resignation might be part of the script also?
I guess that\'s what KillaX is saying
-
if you look at the Promo Poster austin is in the background in black between the Smackdown and Raw signs, go to http://www.kingofthering.com to see it.

I havent watcher wrestling in a long time, not cuz i dont like it, but you know mesican moms and their "novelas". So what was so bad with austin and his character, what was happening to him? also whats up with The rock havent heard much about him.
-
Yeah, it could be a work.. But as far as I know, everything posted as news on their website was 100% true.. From hirings to firings.
-
actually, this is good for the new and younger stars. With people like the rock(movie again me thinks), and austin(fired, quit, whatever) gone, there\'s room for RVD, Lesnar, and nWo to gain back some spotlight.
-
The reason I got into wrestling was Stone Cold. Know hearing this news just bites man. I\'m not going quit watching wrestling though but maybe just not watch it as much anymore. Who knows maybe somebody else could come close to being the next Stone Cold but it won\'t be the same. Have fun drinking your beer and sitting on the couch all day Stone Cold.
-
But Austin fell off in my opinion. I still dont think he should have gotten fired but what happened happened and hopefully the WWE is gonna take advantage of this and let other people who deserves a push get one.
-
Austin is NOT fired. He has a creative control clause in his contract, like many of the other bigger names. WWF retracted their statement saying he was fired. Even still, you probably won\'t be seeing him on TV for a while though. UNless some kind of agreement is worked out.
-
Confidential did a story on it tonight and they interviewd JR and Vince. Both said it would be unlikely SCSA would be back. Although we all know the people dictate this business.
-
One Word: STORYLINE!
Its for the money.......Austin and Vince fight=Big $

IT\'S BEEN DONE BEFORE! I\'m really tired of Austin vs. McMahon. It sucks now.
-
WELL OK EVERYBODY JUST IGNORE THE POST I POSTED B4!!!!!!
:)
-
the more and more i think about it.........if they keep doing works on Confidential (ala HBK) the show will loose all credibility..so it might not be a Work...and he might be gone............I remerb back when he got his neck injured and was out for 6-8 months and the ratings were better without him....it is time for new blood to step up!

You guys don\'t know the full story of why he was fired. Fools. He really was fired and isn\'t coming back ever. The reasons you gave are correct but their is more to the story that most people don\'t know. Steve Austin(Real name Steve Williams) attacked his wife Debra at there home. Debra called the police after austin beat her and drove off. When the police arrived she was crying and was all bruised up. Debra filed a police report and Vince heard about what happened. So he fired him. Thats 100% true. No rumor.

It was in all the papers and stuff, its true. Whats not true ia whether or not he did it before last Monday night, or after. Seeing as he went home to Texas, he could have beaten her in frustration after quiting. He wasn\'t fired, he quit. And seeing as he beat his wife, that makes him an even bigger asshole than previously thought.

- I made the rule a long time ago that we could no longer have any members with a username that had "SolidSnake" in it. Change your name.
- How do you know that\'s 100% true and no rumor? JR and Vince both said SCSA quit on Confidential. And if he had not quit Rocky would not have gone on a tirade on RAW about people quitting.

Yea, were fools, how would you know your right and were wrong? Did you get it from some inside source from the WWE?
