I found this shocking piece of news by accident.
Link. (http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1054356,00.html)
What could drive a person to commit such a crime?
They want stringing up from the nearest lamp post.

A very sick, evil man. I don\'t know WTF the world is coming to. Mankind is getting worse and worse. Atleast I think it is. Kids going on a shooting spree at their High School as if they were playing a First Person Shooter Video Game, Drug Gangs, Aids, Serial Killers, Corrupted Governments, War, Terrorism, ect. I just got married a while ago and my wife is already talking to me about having kids! What kind of future will he or she have? This won\'t stop me because I want children, but it worries me alot sometimes.

You are a product of your environment...with that said, the best you can do is educate your kids about any issues above and more...hopefully you\'ll get across and they\'ll grow up with strong morales and a good conscience (sp?). Now what to do with everybody else?
-
Yeah, what to do with everyone else. What is the solution? Build more prisons, I don\'t know?
-
IMO, tighten up the reigns of crime & punishment...I think the law is way to lenient (sp?), if there were harsher punishment for all crimes I feel people would be to scared of the consequences.

Hell where me and ginko live the prisons are 70% full of drug criminals, they are harsher just about everywhere in the states now on drug crimes than they are on everything else, so this guy my friend knows was in prison for stealing a credit card for nine months and comes out with a masters degree in accounting, what kinda **** is that, why not give me the money he doesnt deserve so i can go to college, he fu*ked up not me so shouldnt i be the one being rewarded.

It\'s an attempt to make them a model citizen and I support that...what good would it do to lock them up, then let them out so much time later to start at ground zero.

Why should they get all those advantages though, it just doesnt seem right, i know its to make them a model citizen, but in most cases they end up right back in jail, and they deserve to start back at ground zero for doing what they did.

If the death penalty was a sure bet, do you think the crime rate would drop? I mean, any little thing- steal, you\'re dead. Rape, you\'re dead. Etc, etc. Assuming it could be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, would "getting rid of the trash" of the world be an aceptable idea? My friends and I were disscussing this the other day, and I figured this was a good thread to bring it up.
IMO, there is just something "wrong" with resorting to killing. I dunno, perhaps my moral standards are just too high, but the above idea sounds a little inhumane to me.

Agreed. For a highly modern country as USA, I\'m amazed they still use death penalty.
