It was shameful!! Referee invalidated 2 spanish fair and legal goals. This is an injustice. It seems that Korea had to pass the next round... P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C
SHAMEFUL
-
I won\'t make any comments on this one. I\'m sure you already know my opinion.
But I refuse to do the same thing italians did. I prefer to shut up and start with the preparations for the next World Cup.
That\'s all I have to say.
-
Go Falgarok right now and read the newspapers:
-
WHAT? BAD OFFICIATING? IS THIS THE LAKERS VS. KINGS SERIES?
-
If you consider "bad officiating" two legal goals invalidated, 1 inexistant off-side, stupid good Hiddink-Referee relation... come on! This is incredible guy!
-
Yea, just like how the referees seemed to always miss the fouls Shaq supposedly commits everytime he\'s in the paint?
Seriously though, I have no knowledge whatsoever of what is going on in the World Cup, I was just had a flashback of the NBA Finals thread and wanted to make reference to it.. lol
-
If you love your life, I wouldn\'t say "LOL" today in Spain about that.
-
I\'m sorry, but no \'legal\' goals where invalidated, if you look closely at the first one (goalkeeper\'s perspective) you can see that Helguerra (I believe) pulled the Korean\'s shirt, and the second \'legal\' goal is not a goal at all, cause the referree had already stopped the game before the ball was over the line, and you could clearly see the Korean goalie stopped because of it.
I do think however that the Spanish deserved to win.
but since Holland isn\'t in the tournament, I might as well be for Korea (Dutch coach - Hiddink), so YAY!!
-
Come on... i\'ve seen the goals 100 times and twice are absolutely fair, what about inexistant off-sides?
This is incredible... shameful
-
Like I said, Spain deserved to win, I don\'t disagree with you on that part, I\'m just saying no legal goals where invalidated, check the rules if you want. I\'m not saying they shouldn\'t have been goals (the second one would probably have been a goal if the linesman didn\'t flag), they just aren\'t goals.
-
The second one was Golden Goal...
:crying: :crying: :crying:
-
I feel sorry for you, Spain has never been a very lucky contestant in the world championships, remember \'98 - defeating Bulgaria with 6 - 1 and still being kicked out! (although that\'s no record, cause Hungaria once got kicked out of the first round while beating el salvador 10 -1!!!!!!)
-
The matter is simply politiepet, Korea had to pass next round. The country is getting rich with the world cup and they couldn\'t loss this match.
Another injustice in football world. But be careful FIFA, Spain is very very annoyed...
:rpissed:
-
cheer up guys theirs always next time:),
on a side note though i hate it when goals get invalidated

You can\'t be serious about that, there\'s noway that\'d be true, you\'re just saying that because Spain lost,
and besides, Korea won\'t gain much by going through, the Korean people are already more thatn satisfied with the result they had before the game, and besides, a country like Spain in the semi finals will be very rerwarding for the Korean, financially
-
KOREA???? Wow, that was unexpected, if USA had beaten Germany, they\'d have a shot at finals!!!

I\'m speaking absolutely in serious.

An assistant can\'t mark out there! that was the golden goal. It was cancelled \'cause the ball was out of the field in that play (although the ball doesn\'t touch the line).

In that image you can see the first cancelled goal. Helguera is clenched by 2 players (2). Even if he can goal, the referee marked fault to him, and cancelled goal. Very good.
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.marca.com%2Fmundial2002%2Fatraco_espana%2Fatraco_luisenrique1.jpg&hash=dbda1012b249d209aee20d19188f8620eaad1440)
And more robbery. Luis Enrique is marked in off-side. You can see it absolutely impossible. He would be alone few seconds later in front of the goalkeeper.
Korea has suffered nice arbitrations in its matches. This is not the first pathetic arbitration. Korea must pass the rounds even they don\'t do anything.
SHAMEFUL
Homage, my lord. You will pass.

Actually this is true but I\'m not going to get in a debate with you on it.

Refs don\'t decide games, players do.
They still had a chance to win it in penatly kicks, and blew it. Simple as that.
Of course, after the 88 Olympics, I wouldn\'t put anything past Refs in Korea.

the one where they mark him offsides, the front of him is offsides not his whole body but his upper torso is in the offsides position, besides the pic you give us is with the ball not even in the being sent position, so say he took another step forward(most likely did) and the guy hadn\'t sent the ball yet, he would of been offsides, its the refs judgement not urs, so stop ur *****ing, the americans lost you don\'t see me on here, complaining about that hand ball, cuz it could of gone either way, calls like that may have been mistakes, but for christ sake, they are human, we all aren\'t as perfect as you adan, so next time, we will have you ref a cup game just so it goes 100% fair.
-
as you\'ll know tony, the refs aren\'t from Korea.
And dude, quit moaning and accept defeat gracefully. Everyone knows refereeing errors are part and parcel of the game we love. Would you be complaining if it had been the other way round? Jeezus, what is it with these European countries and not being able to handel defeat.
Ah well, in the absence of England, come on Korea!

That\'s why I said Refs in Korea, not Korean Refs
-
Italy support us. We\'re going to demand FIFA. Italy states that there\'s a complot for Korea\'s victory.
mjps21983 I\'d conform to have a REFEREE next time, not a clown.
He joked us shamelessly.
-
Italy think theres some sort of plot against them? In which case of course the Italian team would have to be in on it because lets face it, they took a 1 - 0 lead and sat back and defended. Italy lost not because of the referee, but because they were poor
Stop thinking its a conspiracy. You can\'t do this in football. What do you hope to acheive, a rematch? People can\'t do this, if everyone complained to the governing bodies every time they felt something was unfair then the game would become a joke.
Accept defeat like a man, and accept that the element of refereeing is part and parcel of the game. Don\'t be a sore loser.
-

It seems that you didn\'t see the match.. for sure.
I accept fair defeats. I don\'t accept conventional defeats.
The referee is not part of the game (unless he\'s paid obviously). He\'s a judge, theorically objective.

No offence Adan, but this proofs nothing, I already agreed with you that the ball wasn\'t over the line, but that doesn\'t matter for the coming shot to be a goal, if the referree calls before the ball is in it\'s no goal, cause the play stops right after the whistle.
mjps21983 I\'d conform to have a REFEREE next time, not a clown.
again, I disagree, the referree was a very capable one, he did his job very well, it his assistant that is incapable. When the assistant flags, the referree whistles, simple as that
-
well if spain was so good they should have scored more
-
Blatter, Fifa\'s President speaks for Spanish Newspapers:
It\'s obvious that in Spain vs Korea match were deep and serious error comitted by the referee and his assistants. The match will be investigated, as well the theorical complot in favour of Korea that has been reported by Spain and two more countries. The referee election system will be changed after the World Cup. I admit that a 1/4 match shouldn\'t be arbitrated by an egypcian, and Trinidad and Tobago assistants, whose leagues have not the quality and experience of World Cup matches.
Square_marker I admit that yesterday\'s match wasn\'t a real great play for Spain, but you can\'t deny the existence of 2 fair goals in 1/4 World Cup. I\'m sure we were obtained a really nice score if referee had let us.

True, but then again, all isnt fair in the world of sports.
-
indeed, just look at the Germans (no offence), they always managed to weasel themselves through numerous matches with goals in the extra time \'n\' stuff.
as they say: the ball is round!
tough luck, better luck next time

You obviously haven\'t watched Soccer that much.
The Good teams don\'t score 4 goals a game. Hell, Germany was lucky to get ONE against the United States, and it was enough. Good teams are measured by how consistent they are in winning, and their keeper usually is the biggest part of that. I\'m convinced that Oliver Kahn is the ONLY reason why Germany is in the Final Four of the World Cup, the rest of the team wasn\'t that good.
The only reason why South Korea is here is because of the refs. This is the 2nd time in 2 games that the outcome of their game has been HEAVILY disputed throughout the world of Soccer. Italy got screwed by the refs. Spain got screwed by the refs, and I am CONVINCED that Germany will get the same kind treatment from the biased refs.
Go Germany. I have changed now, I hope Germany beats the **** out of South Korea.
See Yuz.

You are absolutely right. Kahn is a giant. Over here we know that the team is not that great ( but better than 1998/2000), so the people didn`t expect much. So I´m satisfied with what the team achieved so far...
One thing...if Germany is out, Turkey beter is out too. Like I said in another thread: I cannot go to work for at least one year when the Turks continue to win...
-
Come on its not like its the super bowl. :)
-
Haha, yes, if the Turks end up beating Brazil, I will be in absolute shock.
I also did fail to recognize the fact that Germany does have Klose and the "Little Kaiser" who scored the only goal against the US (can\'t remember his name at the moment, but I can remember his nicnkname...odd). The Germans have a legitimate shot at winning this tournament if they can get past the refs ****ing up the entire tournament.
See Yuz.

I agree 100% with you. Germans are very scared \'cause they know they can suffer the pathetic spectacle suffered by Italy and Spain.
And if the final is Korea vs Turkey...
-
yeah thats quite bad, worst is that the germans, who are a very weak team compared to there high standards beat them
