This best mean it has online play what do your think
Just browsing the gamefaqs getaway board and found this
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is launching a new online promotion for its forthcoming London based gangster game, The Getaway.
Produced by design agency Forma Communications, a website has been created to allow visitors who are interested in the game to take part in an adventure. Players who register their details, will assume control of an ex-criminal who is entangled in a large gangland conspiracy. Gamers are sent a series of clues, which can be used when the PlayStation2 game is released later this November.
"The Getaway website contains all the elements to be found in the game itself when it is launched later this year and Forma has built in the compelling and mysterious \'Where\'s Charlie?\' section to give enthusiasts a glimpse of what they can expect in the real thing," said Mike Saunders, managing director, Forma Communications. "With regular email updates including tips and clues to help them in the game, we are looking forward to an exceptional number of regulations for the online version of PS2\'s long awaited gangster game."

Nothing in there even mentions the Getaway having online play.
The \'online\' version they are referring to is merely the interactive website.

This bit does

He is referring to the website
The Getaway website contains all the elements to be found in the game itself
hence it is the online version of the game.
Getaway = Offline version
Website = Online version
If it was an offline version WITH online play, they would not be calling it the "online version" unless it was a completely seperate game from the "offline version"
understand? :)
