My friends and I did it tonight, it was really cool. We only let the cd play through once though, we didnt finish the movie. Anyone do the whole movie? Cuz I heard it doesnt work as good.
-
man i have absolutely no clue what your talking about.
-
I thought this was really well known....
If you start the cd "Darkside of the Moon" by Pink Floyd on the third roar of the mgm lion in "The Wizard of Oz" and turn the volume of the movie off, the whole cd goes along with the movie. It\'s really cool. I heard all of Floyd\'s cds go along with movies, but this is the only one I\'ve tried.

out off curosity, how much weed did you smoke before hand.

I remember some of my freinds doing it once, they said it was cool as hell too.

Here are some examples of Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon connections:
As Dorothy walks along the fence, the lyric "And balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave" plays as Dorothy loses her balance and falls from the fence.
The tornado builds as the song "The Great Gig in the Sky" starts.
As Dorothy walks down the yellow brick road, "Any Color You Like"
starts to play.
When the scarecrow is flopping around on the ground, the lyrics "The lunatic is on the grass" play.
As Dorothy listens to the Tin Man\'s Heart, the sound effect of the heart beat plays on the CD.
Try it yourself, it\'s a pretty cool.

It\'s a coincidence. They don\'t make a bunch of their CDs match movies. Give me a break. I did a story on this about 6 years ago for the news.
You could probably put any CD under a movie and be able to pick out about 3 or 4 instances where there is a slight resemblance to the movie.
On another note. Good CD to get F\'d up to.:thepimp:

I don\'t know how you can say for certain that it\'s a coincidence. Roger Waters was a nutcase, and he had plenty of time and money to waste in the studio back in the early 70s. I think he could have easily cut the songs with the band and then mixed the album timing himself without their participation.
BTW, you can play the song "Echoes" from the album Meddle over the final sequence to 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is the exactly correct length, and several of the musical cues line up with changes in the visual sequence. It\'s mostly abstract visual effects, so there are not as many literal lyrical references like with the Wizard of Oz, but it is very cool. I like that score better than the dissonant orchestral music Stanley Kubrick included in his version.

here is the list.
Now you are going to try and tell me that they created their songs so that you could play the CD 3 times through and you continue to have instances of meaningful writing? Give me a break.

Man, this shizat is freaking me out man!:thepimp:

In Wizard of Oz, I liked the way that the Darkisde rhythms went along with what was happening in the movie too. And a lot of the lyircs were sychned up really good. For my next Floyd-movie experience, I\'m going to try that 2001 with "Echoes" one, then I\'m going to try the cd "Wish You Were Here" to the movie It\'s a Wonderful Life. I heard that one\'s pretty good.
