Definately one of my more anticipated Xbox titles. These screens aren\'t quite as good as some of the earlier screenies. (lighting through the chainlink fence for example) Looks like there\'s some great gameplay potential with it too.. tho some of em (like hanging from the steel I-Beam) look very "cut-sceneish". The enviroments look a little sterile in some of the pics.. but it others I\'ve seen they look very well constructed.

I\'ll still be keeping a very close eye on this title. :D I hope it dosen\'t fail to impress.

Also, you have always said it means nothing that PS2 has worse graphics than the xbox because the xbox is newer. Now you tell me why all of a sudden you can compare PC to xbox and laugh and laugh. Shouldn\'t you expect PC to be better and state that it means nothing as you do to PS2 to xbox pics? Hm.

you CANNOT tell me the xbox shot has the same amount and quality of textures as the PC version in those shots. i wont even mention the blur in the xbox version, OOOPS! i just did *laff*

i dont expect the PS2 to have better graphics. i expect it to have better control (which is most certainly will). i also expect it to sell 10x the amount of copies than the xbox version will (which it also most certainly will).

just makes you defensive when the xbox looks bad

EDIT: and no I don\'t see lower quality textures or blurring. I see a difference of lighting and resolution.

Post by: fastson on July 19, 2002, 11:18:38 AM: Umm.. Have a look at page numer 1.. Then look at the first screen you linked to..
Same pic, just resized.. Its a PC screen.

Have a look at the Xbox screen I posted. Click properties.. See where it says 640x480? Then look at the screen again. See the small jaggies? This is what a framebuffer looks like, the silky smooth images are almost always resized.

But, no matter how good those posted screens look - unfortunately videos of in-game footage underline that this game does not look as good as in the screens posted above, well, at least on Xbox that is (don\'t know about the PC version).

Lets hope though that it was just a crappy demo shown at E3 and that the game will look as good (and have a very decent framerate).

At any rate, my point still stands that it\'s not a comparison that should hold any water. They aren\'t in competition and shouldn\'t be. PCs should have better graphics.

Plus, I have a magazine right in front of me that has shots from the xbox game and they too look much better than the one you posted.

The first shot you linked to is the EXACT same screen (look at the details, every pixel is the same.. Only that the colours are slightly darker in the screen you linked to. Can easily be adjusted in Photoshop ect.) only resized to a smaller resolution.

You also see the difference of the character models in the comparison screens I posted. Xbox version has more blurry looking textures and some minor jaggies.

Im not bashing either game.. Just stating the facts compañero.

Also, the textures are exactly the same. I can see no extra blur. The jaggies are there no doubt. I see a higher resolution picture that has different lighting, but beyond that it is the same.

Also the texture on the walls look more blurry IMO. And the characters textures look somewhat more blurry too (check where the suit "ends" on his neck)

I can see a pretty big difference.. And I dont think its the lightning.

The lighting was nice and the character model had great detail.Framerate was unstable though, but it was also an early version.
But it looks more like it will be another 30 FPS game.

I agree with Bob. Lower the graphics to get a higher (at least STABLE) framerate.

But in some games its not the graphics that makes the games run in low FPS.

Post by: Ryu on August 08, 2002, 12:18:20 AM: This is a third person action game and in my opinion, although the PC version will look better, it\'s not worth it because for the same reasons I love the PC for FPS games, I love my consoles for third person action games. Sorry mm, but there is no comparison in that respect. Like you said, controls or graphics, I\'d take the most even version between the PS2 and PC which will be the XBox version with better graphics than the PS2 version and better control than the PC version. Nice middile ground. :)

Speaking of which, I think another requirement for the PC version would be for some great multiplayer features, but is there any word on those for the PC version of the game?

A classic example of how pathetic this is, OMG do you have nothing better to do than analized and pic screens apart.
Wait shouldn\'t you be palying your KIng of consoles(PS2) instead of wasting valuble gamming hours trying to prove XBox is a useless moded PC? I don\'t get it, do you feel as if you are acomplishing something here, which will in turn have a positve effect on people. I dunno you tell me.

my god it never ends, that was pretty tricky of you to put those two screen shots of the xbox version and the pc one(watch he\'s going to pretend it was a mistake, how coincidental) All you do is try to find every flaw in any XBOX game and exploit it to it\'s fullest

Actually, he made a valid point. If you choose to believe it is entirely up to you. Maybe you don\'t mind, but we do if we get screens that lead us to believe are for our system when infact they\'re not (see Main-Discussion forum (StAnZo\'s thread)). We did it with TOCA and we did it with SplinterCell. No one is claiming their opinion to be fact, only pointing out that those screens above may be doctored (downsized). I really don\'t see your problem mate.

wonders why so many Xbox fans get so easily offended...

I dunno who would of, I thought to be a zealot one would own the console, which I do not. Also comming from a hardcore PC gammer I can tell you XBOX play\'s and is in itself not a PC. It may be made of certain pc componets and that were it ends. Please don\'t debate this I have alrady read countless threds on this topic, it\'s old put it to rest. Without a doubt this forum is biased(not saying everyone here is), yes it is a PS2 forum but certain people who bash it, also proclaim they are unbiased gammers which is not true.

I personally have little beef with PS2 now, It has some good games that I will be playing, Also just to let you know I own a PS2, Bought mine on day1 at EB-Canada. I just find it intersting when XBOX has some good looking stuff comming how certain people attempt to flip it the other way around on it\'s ugly side.

We had a debate whether or not the Splinter Cell screens were from the Xbox or not.
Watchdog asked me what the major difference was and I pointed them out.

See? I proved a FACT.. Nothing else.

LOL, what a way to try and force me into the discussion, one of the reasons why I was not going to post when i mention that part, was i feared another debate would be brought up. That dosn\'t mean jack, are you forgeting that I read the forums here on a daily basis since day one. I\'m sure watch remeber those topics and debates. I throughly enjoyed reading them, why, cause there you were trying to climb yourself out of the hole you dug. Those were classic threads.

(1) Hardware - it\'s a friggin PIII 733 + enhanced GF3. PC? Yep.

(2) Software -
i. lacks of console type RPG
ii. Majority of games inferior version of PC counterparts and can be found on the PC.(Morrowind,Splinter Cell, Halo....it goes on)
iii. The other minority exclusive titles are PC like gameplay and nature.

granted there\'s a few other exclusive titles that is typical console games...like Crazy Taxi 3 and DOA3. But this, IMO, does not warrant a purchase AS A CONSOLE.

Still if ur still running on a 133Mhz Pentium and your main concern is playing PC game, then it is a good buy.

Plus, I have a magazine right in front of me that has shots from the xbox game and they too look much better than the one you posted.
