Title: Great CG art
Post by: Samwise on July 14, 2002, 05:55:42 AM
This is \'pretty good\' CG art... (btw, it\'s a 3D image, not painted 2D)

(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.homepet.com%2F3d%2Fimages%2Flandscapewb2.jpg&hash=8fd7770fe1186699f2af58cd523f7fbb31520f6e)

Hey, I have an idea. If you have made some landscapes in Bryce or Vue d\'Esprit (or whatever), then show them here!

Samwise, is it made by you? If yes:

1) Great work.
2) How the hell did you make the flowers and grass?

Adan, if you want, you could just upload the pictures to geocities.  If you put them there, I\'ll download them, put them on my server, and post them so people can see.  I love looking at these types of images.  Almost motivates me to learn how to make them myself.

The flowers have excellent textures. You all know I am kinda into this sorta thing, so I will post some more of my art when I finish the ones I am working on at the moment.

BTW, that picture is brilliant, would have taken ages to render.

Adan, what program did you use to create those? They use excellent textures.

Thanx Samwise ;)

Racer, I used 3D Max Studio (+TG) to create the environment and then Photoshop to enhance the picture. Textures? Bah.. normal ones.

Luckee, two programs that are pretty easy to learn are Bryce 5 and Vue d\'Esprit.

I might make some pics too and show them. :)

Hmm, can\'t remember. Otherwise you can most probably find some on the net.

yes luckee, you can try to download tutorials from the net, or simply buy books that there are a vast amount of them.

My advice? Go ahead and get Terragen, cool program for a beginner.

Cool, Im gonna have to DL one of these and see what I can do. Looks pretty fun.. Oyea..one more question..do they have bases for landscape and such, or is everything created from scratch?

BUY them you mean.

The landscapes can be created automatically, so it\'s pretty easy to start with.

they don\'t use to have that stuff, but you can also find a lot of patchs and plug-ins that will help you a lot in creation process.

What plug-in did you use to create the landscapes? I have a crappy mountain generator for Mx, but it sux. I mostly use "displace" and a grayscale map from Photoshop. Like Clouds/difference clouds....
