I guess the proposed drawings of the proposed replacement buildings of the WTC are going to be released.  ANd none of them are tall..

SO you don\'t have to worry about that big 5 towered thingamabob that we saw here a couple months ago being built.

I didn\'t mind it either, but it seemed at the time the consensus on the board was that it looked stupid.  

I wonder how they are going to replace all that office space and not go tall.  It will be interesting to see the drawings when they come out.

They are stupid if they don\'t go tall..no other way around replacing all of the offices required. In NYC anyway.

I\'m relieved that we won\'t be seeing that huge 5-tower thing.  Maybe as a consolation, when/if we find Bin Laden, the Fox network can arrange a pissing contest between him and Bush.  :rolleyes:

I\'ll state my opinion again. If we rebuild the Twin Towers, that will show to the terrorists that we will take no sh1t from them. It will show that we won\'t take this lying down. With modern technology, they will be able to stay up even hit by a 747. They already proved that they could withstand a 747.

personally i dont know what all the fuss about the buildings being tall is about. the WTC towers were never attacked because of their height, but because of its stature(sp?) as the financial heart of America.
on a side-note tho, i share the exact same opinion as Sara.

I think they need to retain the twin tower concept.  And Vapor, no matter how its built it could still be attacked.

Thats a chance that needs to be taken. We simply cannot go without the world trade center in some form. Like tyrant said, they were attacked not b/c of size..but its importance. So now matter its size, if it will be attacked again..it will no matter its size or location.

You can\'t see much, but I\'m sure there will be better stuff coming out as the competing architects try and drum publicity for their plans.

Hey.. you know.. if they moved that single tower over just a bit.. and you looked at it from just the right profile.. it WOULD look like we\'re flipping off the terrorists. Kinda like that one joke pic everyone was posting earlier.

Oh, and they\'re right.. even if the new towers could withstand a 747.. they\'d still attack. Build a tower strong enough to withstand even a nuclear holocaust sized blast.. and they\'ll just flood the air ducts with nerve gas. You aren\'t going to stop attacks on it.. period.

I like this one.  I\'m very glad that they didn\'t go with any bullshit plan like that 5 towered thing we saw before.  This is just what they should be doing.

Something about this one makes it my favorite.  The twin tower concept is a big plus.
