Well I guess Lance Bass is officially going into space...
Bye Bye Bye
-
fffzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...*BOOM*!
Bye bye bye indeed.
-
Great. See kids? You don\'t need to study hard to be an astronaut or cosmonaut! You just need a lot of money and the right connections.
-
Lance: What does this button do?
Cosmonaut: No don\'t touch that button!
*air lock released and all die*
-
I didn\'t know there was a Canadian Space Agency! LOL!
I guess since they had such a successful program with those Estes D engines, they\'re ready to try something bigger. :p
-
ABOUT TIME ONE OF THEM WENT UP!!! Hell, send the other four, and while they\'re at it, why not take up the Backstreet Boys and Britany too. They\'re all getting so annoying!
-
No, leave Britney.
-
PATHETIC!
No, not this thread, the fact that Lance Bass is going to space. I guess if O.J. Simpson can buy his way into innocence, then why not having Lance buy his way into space. Damn pathetic if you ask me.

I left her in the kitchen before I got online tonight and said "Make me a sammich, beotch!"

Well with luck he\'ll get stranded in space for a few months and force Nsync to hire Michael Jackson as his replacement worked out pretty good at the MTV VMA\'s. Then Nsync will return to the top....

Good riddance!

Lance, I guarentee will just get in the way of the mission.

People, look at the bigger picture here.
Sure, I\'d like nothing better than to space all memebers of all boybands without the benefit of pressure suits, but I\'ve put aside my distaste for them in regards to a space shot.
Why?
Simple. Publicity. Like it or not, the space program is suffering. Their funding almost always gets cut every year. They\'ve got to cut costs and take shortcuts, sometimes with spectacular (Pathfinder) or dismal (Mars Climate Orbiter) results.
So when Dennis Tito, that South African guy, and Lance Bass are willing to pony up $20m each to get themselves into space, I couldn\'t be happier, even though the money goes to the Russian program. If Lance Bass visiting the ISS gets any teen more interested in space, then you\'ve got nothing to complain about.
NASA\'s been trying to maintain a professional facade by mildly opposing these celebrity launches, but their resolve is weakening. I suspect we\'ll see people paying to go up in Columbia itself within a couple years. If I could afford the price tag, I\'d do it in a second (even though $20m is kinda spendy, considering it \'only\' costs $10k/pound to put something into orbit, and $20m is about 7x what it\'d cost to put me in orbit (including consumables and personal effects)).
Private funding by adventure-seeking millionaries is basically the only way we\'ll ever see space travel come down in price, now that the government\'s killed the spaceplane programs. It happened with ocean travel, it happened with planes, and it could happen with space.
Now if only this Seattle engineer\'s space elevator idea comes to fruition...

I like the way u think Shadowhawk. :)
Them handy carbon nano tubes should be produced in mass quantity anywhere within the next decade, so hang onto your pants - and wallet! Mind you, it\'ll be a much smaller wallet, since the costs assosciated with launching a high powered rocket will be no more.

Who is Lance Bass?

A member of N\'Sync
