Bungie\'s first-person shooter for the Xbox becomes the first console game to grace iGames\' list of most popular multiplayer games

i doubt certain aspects about the testing become accurate
they probably polled a bunch of college students to see what
online game they\'re playing

regardless, halo is a cool game that deserves to be played online WITHOUT paying m$ a frickin cent

im very curious to see how it fares next month

I can\'t believe there are enough people playing online Halo (such as it is) to be that high on the list.  There is some manipulation of the stats there I\'m sure.

That\'s from June.  You can expect to see WC3 on top 3 for the next few months, for a while longer even.  Until World of Warcraft comes out, even then tho, Blizzard will own like 5 spots.

The list above ranks games according to popularity at more than 150 game centers across North America.

Uhh.. exactly how do they tell how much a game is played online from game centers?

They must be going by sales, in that Case THPS3 for ps2 should be on that list.. halo is not even offically an online title... very strange list

It works like this:

Halo IS an online game (sort of). It\'s just that since Xbox Live is coming out a full year afterwards, Bungie decided that it isn\'t worth it to fully develope the online feature. What you can do is have a LAN party with Xbox and some gaming centers can simulate a LAN party to allow online gaming for Halo. Look closely at some of the maps as they support far more than 4 players (I\'ve some could go as high as 32. Any confirmation on this?)

ooseven.. you\'ve been listening to mm way too much.. I havent seen one instance of slowdown in the single player.  There is slight slowdown in co-op (but it is ONLY noticable if you are looking for it)

But I\'ve never played the final level.  Perhaps thats the only level ooseven has played :)

yer lying to us and yerself if you say you havent noticed slowdown in single player

the 2nd or 3rd level where you start out landing on the beach and yer attacked right away

MASSIVE slowdown

dont get me started on the last level

mm.. I\'m as anti-XBox as most fanboys.. I don\'t even particularly like Halo.. but I\'ve never seen slowdown.. nor have i seen "massive slowdown"

:)

The slowdown is noticeable but extremely rare...until the last level.  it\'s almost to the point of unplayable

"Sheeshhhhh if SlowDown in One player is bad enough...i don\'t even what to see this in multiplayer and Online"

I was merely pointing out this is an exaggeration.

There is only slowdown on the last level.  Every where else, if there is some, it is very minor, and cannot be called massive.

I\'ve played 8 player lan, and the framerate is stable.  I think the max player limit is 16.

Maybe the NTSC version has more slowdown then the PAL one? Only figuring since mm most likely played the NTSC version while Bobo and ooseven probably played their PAL version.

ooseven supposedly experience mass slowdown (on the level that mm did).. although it doesnt appear uncommon that different copies of the same game have varying amounts of slowdown.

I know slowdown in my copy of MoHFrontline is rampant, while others report none.  I didnt see any slowdown in Halo while others say it is horrible.  Hell, some people have even seen slowdown in Jak & Daxter

PC Morrowind  <  Xbox Morrowind

*Low cost to play Halo*

PC $1,200  <  Xbox  $199

please dont even compare the xbox morrowind to the PC version

they are two entirely different animals

its takes complete xbox brainwashing to think it runs better on the xbox, *laff*

oh, i didnt know it only cost $199 to play halo on xbox, i guess the $50 game is free

The game isn\'t free on PC either.  Not sure what the point is.

Either way, it\'s cheaper to play morrowind on xbox.  Why you\'d want to play it is beyond me, but that\'s the no argument here.

the PC version of morrowwind is better, it has extras features that were removed in the xbox version cause MS was worried that it would give too much access to the HDD. Making the xbox HDD a glorified memory card.

Where the hell did you hear that Chrono?  Forgive me if I don\'t take you for your word.

Gorified or not, it\'s better than buying a pile of mem cards to hold your saved games.

just wonderful.  Everyone grow up.

pstwo, how can you say X-Box Morrowind > PC Morrowind.

PC > Consoles 100% of the time.  I\'m sorry but the PC Morrowind was by far, and i mean by far, a much better game.  By any chance, how are your mods going, being that X-Box morrowind is limited to what comes with it and PC can aquire mods of the internet.  Geee, isn\'t that amazing?????

I\'d say X-box cut out 50% of the gameplay.  Mods are half the fun.  I mean the game is pretty much endless with the mods.  Oh I\'m sorry, a version with lower graphics, slower gameplay, limited gameplay, poorer sound, +limited hardware is still better.

Now thats a funny story, and it\'s even funnier that you believe that.
