What the hell are you on about just read your message it is complete rubbish! Brain washing my arse! They didn\'t put DVD and stuff in to reduce the cost cos being able to play DVD s is next to useless no one hardly ever uses their PS2 for that and they i don\'t think would ever use it as a CD player (What\'s the point?). Nintendo said it is for pure gaming for one reason (Err I wonder what that could  be?) Because it is! If it plays games and doesn\'t have any next to useless extras then you can only play games thus it is for Pure gaming!
And just as someone else said they made the Q which plays DVD\'s and music and a little lcd screen which would be for flash shallow people if they\'re never gonna use the extras. So it\'s not because they\'re crap (cos there not) it\'s just they don\'t see the point upping the price for a useless extra.
Nintendo make games and consoles (and are darn good at it) unlike sony who make multimedia devices and don\'t make games. And I think that\'s pretty useless because what do you buy a GAMES console for? (another hard one) Playing games. You buy a CD  player for playing CD\'s and a DVD player for playing DVD\'s. I know that\'s stating the obvious but that just sums up my point just think about it.

its the button in the right hand side of the screen just below yer post, but something leads me to think that u already knew that.

Useless perhaps in Europe and the States, but not in Japan. Just read up on a few articles when PS2 launched and you\'ll see that a lot of people bought the PS2 primarely as a DVD-player and not as a game-console. The market has also changed since then and prices of standalone DVD-players have come down, especially in Japan (or so I believe).

Nintendo good at making consoles? Not for what I see them. They make great games, but that\'s about it really. If it\'s the specs of the GameCube you\'re getting at, thank ATI, Matshushita and a view others for making what it is. Nintendo is as good at making consoles as Microsoft is...
