Cost me 300w/install.. :( That may not seem like too much for most of you, but I don\'t have a job and parents give me very little.. I\'m poor now.

oh yea, notice the butigroove sticker. ;) haha

Not too shabby my good man. Not too shabby at all :) . Did you get an amp and some 12\'s with that? Hope you did :bounce: .

I actually got my first mod for my car too last wednesday. I got a dvd player installed in my car. The dvd player is by concept. Its pretty decent, plays dvd, vcd, cd, mp3 cd (the mp3 cd part rocks :)  no more burning wavs for me)

The 5 inch monitor is a flat screen lcd monitor by XO. Its pretty nice. The dvd player is bolted in my trunk so no one can steal it. The monitor is hooked up to a gooseneck tv stand that is bolted into the passenger side seat. Its nifty.  Of course the monitor is removeable so no worries about that being stolen. Parts and labor ran a total of 570 dollars. Not too shabby at all. The best part is, I didnt have to pay a cent. My sister got it for me as a early bday gift. The next thing i plan on getting is a new sound system (new cd player, amps, 12 inch subs, the works) Wish me luck  .

2 days ago I had a race with a WRX STi on public street and he smoked me.So I\'m thinking of getting a turbo,So if I see this guy again I\'ll at least give him a better run.I have got a holden Commadore with a nissan 3 litre so a skyline turbo should go on with minimal resistance. But not one the of stock ones I want a good one,What would be required does any one know??I realise new pistons and exhaust but any thing else??

Oh yeah and your car would look better if you got it a bit closer to the ground.

As popular as those cars are(so I hear anyway) There should be plenty of manufactuers making stuff for it..even a bolt-on turbo kit so you dont have to mess around trying to make your own.

Wow shin, that\'s pretty cheap, considering you got all of that and all I got was a cd player.  What kind of car do you have?

As far as subs/amp, I\'m still saving up for that, that will run me down at least 500 again :(

And I would lower it, but it\'s still on full warranty, so I really can\'t touch the major parts of the car till it\'s over.

Sure you can..they have to prove what ever failed was due to the lowering springs. Almost anything on the suspension is considered normal wear and tear and wouldn\'t be covered by warranty anyway, so you probably can drop it.

 I did not know that sir! Well, have to save me another 250 for springs plus labor..

If I do in fact have them put on, are there any other things I need to do luckee? Like anything else involved with the car?

Im not that familiar with the es300. just check around and see if you can get a strut/spring combo. Some manufactuers have struts valved according to the drop spring.

Hell, that car may even have shocks..same as a strut..yet different in design if that makes any sense.

Other than what i stated..you should be ok..just take the car to be aligned afterwards..then again, that also isnt always necessary. I didnt have to when I lowered my cars..then some did.

I drive a 2000 Honda Civic. Its no Lexus but its a good little car. Gets me from point a to point b so I\'m happy. I\'m not planning on lowering it or adding a body kit or anything like that. Although I am seriously considering a paint job because I have so many scratches on my car. Plus my car is green so I like to have it painted to Pearl Black. Other then the sound system , I\'m not really planning on doing anything else. Maybe rims but thats too expensive.

you paid for install?????  damn man, installing a deck is possibly the most simple thing you could ever hope to do to a car.  next time save that 25-50 bucks and do it yourself.

Luckee - What are struts? lol, I\'m totally clueless about these things, shows I can get ripped of easily :(

Bozco - Ever think of present financial problems? Even though I\'m blinging (sorta  ) with the Lexus, it doesn\'t mean they gots the dough. We are ok right now, just not doing to well. Economy on Guam SUCKS.

theomen - Yep, there were some tutorials for this install on a Lexus forum I visit, but I decided I couldn\'t tackle it.. Difficulty on this isn\'t like shin\'s Honda. You don\'t just pull out the existing and replace with aftermarket. Had to do lots of extra wiring and crap, they even removed my seat to do something with my amp. Me = clueless, I let experts do it. :)

I\'m confused, did you pay for it or not?

Actually installing the dvd player takes more wiring and is much more difficult then installing a simple dash cd player. They didn\'t replace anything with no aftermarket trash.

I still have my stock cd player intact and functional. They installed a FM modulator in order to have sound. Basically the sound runs from the dvd player through to a fixed radio station via the FM modulator and through to my speakers. They even installed a little switch under my steering wheel so I can switch it on and off when I want to listen to the radio or when I want to listen to stuff playing off of the dvd player without any static or interference. :)

Well thats somewhat better.  I can\'t stand people that complain about money when their parents pay for all of their stuff.

Wow I just found something cool about the dvd player I got installed in my car. I can hook a ps2 or a ps1 or anything tha tuses av inputs into the dvd player and play it. Thats pretty neat.

I can just picture myself playing gran tourismo 3 or some other racing title in my car...while driving the car :)
