I\'m not really Buffy fan but I seen a movie in the OXM and it looks sweet! Nice action game with some sweet special effects. I might get this one.

EGM also gave low scores for Enclave, Dead to Rights.. and.. and.. Eternal Darkness! *shudder*
Well, kinda. ED scored a 9-8-7.5. It sounds about right.. the game obviously isn\'t everybody\'s favorite. ;)

The EGM review staff is not made up of gaming gods. In reference to the Buffy review, just \'cause they say a game is 6.0-7.5 material (note: above-average) does not necessarily make it bad. :)

That\'s what I meant. Some people agree that it\'s a decent game, but not stellar. They\'d give it 7.5 or 8.
Others, like myself, found the game to be well above average. I\'d give it around 9.3 personally, or 9 like EGM did.

EGM sucks bad, I remember I bought Gran Turismo 2 based on their review. The game was above average, but they gave the game perfect 10\'s? The graphics were horrible, very hard on the eyes! The first game was better IMO. Thank God for Gran Turismo3!

I personally like EGM and agree with the 7.5 score of Eternal Darkness. One thing you guys seem to forget is that it is just a viewpoint or an opinion. It is not fact. So when reading a magazine review, take it as just that. An opinion .
As for PSTWO, I guess you have to have something to play on the Xbox, with the severe lack of games it is currently suffering. So, rush out and buy BUffy!:")

I just realized...
Just a few days ago, Chrono was pointing out and laughing how Watchdog was comparing DOA3 to Mario Sunshine, simply because Watch posted their respective scores.
Someone tell me what it is Chrono is doing right here.

Not sure why you are laughing at MS. The PS2 also has plenty of crap games that received some notable hype. It is just one of those things we have to live with in the industry.
Now, I can understand laughing at MS for the severe lack of games so far. I\'m not sure how they plan to do any sales when the only thing they have had since launch has been Halo and no, Morrowind does not count.

Those EGM scores sound harsh, but I\'ll buy it and make it my 3rd Xbox game, since I only currently own Halo and Raw. Might as well buy the crap games....That nobody will play.

Buy Munch - the only decent Xbox game.
Also, although we are bagging on Buffy, Namco\'s latest game \'Dead to Rights\' scored even below that, though I don\'t remember the exact scores.

Munch is without a doubt one of the best games available for Xbox, but the only decent game? Whatever.
By "decent" standards I would add Halo, Project Gotham, Jet Set Radio Future, Max Payne, Rallisport, Morrowind, Dead or Alive 3...Some of you are seriously short changing the system.
Maybe Rastalant was on to something, talking about people trashing Xbox left and right...someone sticks up for it and all of a sudden they become a target as one after another reminds them of the lack of software, fps, or some other BS.:rolleyes:

Halo : I personally can\'t stand the game. Frame rate problems, typical FPS...The list goes on.
Jet Set Radio:Future - I don\'t think you even want to get me started on this dissapointment, as I was an avid fan of the first one.
Max Payne : - Didn\'t care for it.
Dead or Alive 3: - Come on! I didn\'t care for the first two on any systems and three is just a revamped graphics engine for the most part.
Morrowind - Butchered version of the PC game.
To be completely honest, you got me on one thing. There is another decent Xbox game..That is Gun Valkiyre, provided you go buy the S controller - the only possible way to play that game.
Hopefully Steel Battlion, Strident and Panzer Dragoon : Orta will also be added to that list. I\'m hopeful.

Okay, Ginky now we got a problem ;). Unless you are telling me my copy of Halo is defective, than I can think of more than two instances of frame rate problems. Almost anytime you take the warthog (with back gunner) into a heavy enemy area, the game starts to drop frames.
As for Jet Set Radio:Future, I felt like they butchered the game and I\'ll never forgive Sega for that...:mad:

Bah, I was merely suggesting that it doesn\'t derail the gameplay. I\'ve been through the game almost a dozen times and it\'s never hindered gameplay. To bag on the game continuously for a shortcoming common in 90% of videogames is just tiring.
As for Jet Set Radio:Future, I felt like they butchered the game and I\'ll never forgive Sega for that...
THe only negative comment I have on the game is that the areas were sometimes to large and without direction. Getting past that then the game was in a word, decent:p

There are a great deal of areas in the game that are varied, particularly each time you start a level, but many of the times you are inside the installation, everything is just a repeat of what you just got through and that is something I don\'t like. Framerate problems are few and far between so I really don\'t think it\'s fair to knock the entire game for that. I actually thought MoH frontline suffered from WAY more slowdown then Halo, but that\'s just me.

WTF!?
My Halo has had literally 1 or 2 instances of slowdown. In co-op. Never in single player.
However, last night I loaded it up and didnt click on anything (the menu screen) and it let the demonstrations play.. and there is PLENTY of slowdown there. So it just made me rather confused as to why when playing the game I have seen virtually NO slowdown at all.

EGM is not gospel. While I have no cares about this game, nor have I ever, taking one opinion and making it your own just because it fits your agenda is something a dumb**** would do. BTW, Crispin Boyer said on GA yesterday that a 5 was average.
People who say XBox has two decent games must:
Not play sports games as it has all the standard Sega and EA sports games.
disagree with the majority of people on how \'decent\' Halo, GUNVALKYRIE, JSRF, Munch, Morrowind, Amped, Project Gotham, Rallisport Challenge, DOA3, Crazy Taxi 3, Gun Metal, World Series Baseball, and Enclave are. Especially when all of these games have received above average to excellent scores.
Don\'t be stupid and say jaded crap like that. Especially when it is apparent that you haven\'t played a majority of these titles. These are just the exclusive ones, btw. There are third party ones on XBox that are very good, too. There is plenty to play on XBox, you just can\'t let a jaded opinion get into your head despite a mass opinion of their being fun things to play.
and another thing, that stupid "Of course the game looks nice, but is hollow like every other XBox game" is bull****. PS2 has a much higher **** game ratio, except there is NO redeeming graphics on those games. Terrible graphics, slowdown, rushed feel, etc. are all acceptable on PS2. How many times have I heard how great Sky Gunner or Medal of Honor is despite all the problems that obviously plague these games, much worse so than in Halo. Yet everytime Halo gets mentioned, "Besides the terrible slowdown" is also thrown in there for good charm. The slowdown in Halo is very uncommon, much more so than in Frontline, and Halo has good aiming to boot!
Give me a ****ing break, you guys are getting sucked into opinions without actually trying the games that you ignore.

Simply cause the game (mark of kri) has gameplay, unlike 99% of xbox games.
There is something that is more effective and does it better then a xbox game. What is that called you may ask.. A movie!
Yep, provides the same experience as a xbox game but probably much more enjoyable (not to mention less frustrating and cheaper)
Interestingly enough the ps2 plays movies, so in theory the ps2 plays xbox games.

No problem. It\'s a common mistake people make when they debate with me. It\'s easy to come off as a fanboy when you try and defend something. It\'s hard to show you\'re impartial when you\'re defending anything actually. :)

I love it. Nice way to put that especially since it\'s so true. The same people here who cream all over MoH Frontline are the same people who say Halo has framerate issues but claim Frontline has no framerate issues to speak of. It\'s total BS and to see people praise that game and diss Halo for the same shortcomings baffles me time and time again. The only bad thing is that if MoH comes out for the XBox and suffers from the same issues it has on the PS2. I expect them to be remedied, but of course, it\'ll never run as good on the XBox as Allied Assault does on my PC. ;)

I actually considered this game to be more of a sleeper hit like Sky Gunner or Way of the Samurai was. Although, I don\'t think those games are really hits, but more like quirky games that aren\'t as high profile as others. The first preview I read about the game was a small interview in one of those smaller magazines (I forget the name right now), but the impressions were good nonetheless just like the majority of Sky Gunner and Way of the Samurai previews. I just put a little bookmark in my mind about it, but I never saw any sites doing 5-day exposes about it like they did (do) GTA3, GT3, Halo, Mario Sunshine, Zelda, or MGS2. Maybe I just didn\'t look hard enough for it, but I definitely missed the hype if there was any at all.

Discounting fanboys on forums: Enclave, Outlaw Golf and Hunter got little attention of that magnitude, certainly no more than Kri did. I\'ll grant that Sky Gunner and Samurai were sleepers. I had been watching Kri for a while now, but those other two came out of nowhere.
The only game released this summer that did was Morrowind, and the reviews were great.

Yeah, I will keep down the swearing. But notice how the fanboys are noticeably absent from this thread. Except Chrono, always trucking on.
XBox is no different from PS2, just getting it\'s foothold right now. The only thing over PS2 it has, is it isn\'t getting shitty ports from consoles to it. Most of the time, they are superior ports or have stuff added to them to make the purchase better on XBox. XBox hasn\'t even gotten a year out and is doing just fine, IMO, much beter than PS2 at the time.

This fall, I think my Cube and my XBox will be getting a lot more play time then last year. Sure, I\'ll be playing Socom to death online, but after that, it\'s mostly good platformers and GTA Vice City on the PS2. Here\'s to hoping The Getaway turns out to be decent.

Pfft, but Ryu is too close minded to be interested in games such as TimeSplitters 2 and Red Faction 2, purely because of their rushed predecessors. :evil:
But that\'s ok, I\'ll play them enough for both of us. ;) :)

I never appreciated the style that Timesplitters was and the framerate in the first Red Faction was pretty bad let alone the gimmicky Geo Mod that was used to very little effect. All the red in that game just made ya dizzy. ;)

Timesplitters 2 is completely different. From everyone I know who played the demo it\'s supposedly great. I know some Nintendo fans in particular who think it feels almost like a direct sequal to Perfect Dark.
And from the looks of it the framerate in Red Faction 2 has been upped supremely and looks smooth as hell. Not to mention the fact that the developers say they have upgraded the Geo-Mod from gimmick to include it far more often in the gameplay.
