Man, 103, Told to Bring Parents for Eye Test
Wed Jul 31,12:19 PM ET
LONDON (Reuters) - British pensioner Joseph Dickinson, 103, had a shock when his local hospital called him in for an eye test and told him to bring his parents.
"I must be getting younger, in fact much younger," he told his local paper, the Hartlepool Mail.
Joseph Dickinson was born in 1899, but because the hospital computer only read the last two digits it mistook his age as just three years old.
"It was a clerical error," a spokesman for City Hospitals Sunderland told Reuters by telephone from northern England on Tuesday.
"I think he was quite amused when he was explaining to the consultant at the hospital why he couldn\'t bring his mother and father with him."

 that would have to be a little embarassing on both sides.
-
Were they running Windows by any chance? ;)
-
probably Win ME that\'s funny though
-
Oh no! Y2K finally struck... this is only the begining! Go buy your shotguns and canned meat! We\'re all doomed!

they warned us about Y2K,
IT\'S TAKEN OVER!

Probably turned on too.
-
That is pretty messed up. But funny
-
What are they doing sending the appointment to HIM if he\'s supposed to be only three years old? Surely it would at least be addressed "To the parents of.....". And if that WAS what was on the envelope, wasn\'t he committing an offence by opening a letter that WASN\'T addressed to him.
Mind you, I guess that he could argue that he is only three years old.
-
Maybe it was a joke?
-
Maybe, mabe not.
-
It\'s just a theory. Probably wasn\'t.
-
He should have been creative, gone dug up and parents and brought them into the hospital. What does it matter man, your 103 no one is gonna give you a hard time!
-
What if they were cremated

Dump some dirt on the counter and appologize for their inability to talk.
