Title: Bitboys news ;-)
Post by: nO-One on August 03, 2002, 01:09:32 PM
yep, new stuff from the Bitboys, they claim that their XBA architecture is still better than anything.

knowing how much mm loves the Bitboys from some old statements of his :p

bit seriously, seems they were displaying some hardware recently

Well, even if they had a slim chance of being good back in 1998 they have none now.
Their clame to fame was extreme bandwidth, a whopping 20gbps, well Matrox is there, so is ATi and nVidia will be following with the nv30. So, why now do a bit of dying boys.

It\'s supposedly a vid card from the Bitboys.

It\'s a finish company that started back in 1998, claimed that their Glaze3d chip and their patented XBA architecture was better than the TNT\'s and VooDoo 3\'s, and nothing showed, then came the Ge-Force\'s and they claimed theirs was better and so on and so on. All they ever really done is send out announcments that theirs was always better.

Vaporware of the best kind

Their first chip was called Pyramid3D and there was also working silicon. I saw realtime demonstration of it at assembly (yes it could be 1998 and it had graphical problems first time they tried to demo it, so they had to restart and try again ;) ).

Glaze was their first chip with XBA.

but, yes it looks like they are going with their old lane and show \'new\' desing every 2 years and releasing none.
