I wonder why Sega won\'t release on the 30 million PS2\'s. :p
Gran Turismo territory perhaps? ;)
-
most likely. Good to see though that the game looks better than the last view screens. IMHO, they don\'t quite touch GT in the graphics area just yet, but I\'m sure it will play fine.
*waits for GT4...

pathetic

That was a poor preview, and those screens look like ass compared to other racing games (Gran Turismo, Rallisport Challenge). Hope it\'s at 60fps and it actually does have a sense of speed.
-
Thats not an XBOX.Nope it cant be....Nah.It is and it stinks so far.
Hope it\'s at 60fps and it actually does have a sense of speed.
From what I ve seen so far it is running at 60fps and is fast. But it still stinks.
-
...? How do you know it stinks?
-
E3 perhaps? I recall a few people playing it and commenting on it. Said that it\'s better than the DC version. Far better in gameplay. But they did note that at the time, the environment needed more work. After all, it was an early stage demo.
-
I was actually just about to post these. For crying out loud the game doesn\'t look much better, if any, than GT3.
-
Just from those pics it looks worse..
Dunno how it looks in movies tho :)
And it\'s 2 player is probably better than GT3\'s 2 player  :)
-
I heard the game has very little sense of speed... forgot what webiste I read it at.. sorry
-
I´m not excited. I made a big mistake and got the Japanese version of part one which had even worse gameplay than the other versions.

Based on our brief time with the game, Sega GT 2002 is technically impressive, but the gameplay falls short. The sense of speed just isn\'t there; the scenary moves by at a crawl, even when using fast cars. We\'re hoping these problems are just specific to the cars we had a chance to test out.
Yeah....if you scroll up to the top, you \'ll find a link provided by me. That\'s where you read that from. :p
and I thought ~I~ smoked too much weed. ;)
-
I\'m picking it up and I\'ll see how good it is.
-
GT bores me to tears. GT2002 is a cheap copy--I\'m sure it\'ll bore me to death.
-
Sega GT 2002 is a rushed effort at giving the XBOX a decent racing sim.
-
GT 2002 is a disgrace to SEGA, plain and simple. The game is not only an obvious clone, but a clone that makes no significant attempt to improve on the original. Oooh, look! You can decorate your garage! GOTY GT3 Killah!!!!!!!
-
:(
Looks like...dare I say it...
Driving Emotion Type S
(shrill goes up my spine)
-
Guys, it\'s not a horrible game--it\'s getting good reviews (solid 8s or higher). For people who like this type of game, it\'s not that bad.
-
It looks good, but not great. Because its on XBOX, I expected fully 3D trees, buildings and environments (like, wheres a waterfall or something unique?) I mean, they keep telling us how XBOX can throw around so many million polys, then why can\'t they prove it??? Watch the vids from IGN and all I see is these 2D tree cutouts that have been fused together in the middle, facing different angles. Geeez, RRV, a PS2 launch title had 3D palm trees, why not this???
-
Just 8 days more! Can\'t wait to race!! :D

Nice replays.
-
Looks pretty sweet from those screens. If it looks like that in motion, then I might have to buy an XBOX.
When is the US launch? What about the UK/AUS release?
-
Looks like they finally put some more work into the backgrounds. Looks ok now. But if it still plays like the first one ,then I´m out.
-
I saw some of the commercials on Speed Channel, it looks very good.
-

So, that\'s what? 92 cars?
-
Those pics posted by pstwo...looks mostly like REPLAY shots to me...except maybe the last two which doesn\'t looks impressive at all. In fact the second last shot is a night time shot and the lightning and reflection just isn\'t there.
Anyway...GT bores me...
-
to me, those look like renders or downsized images. I\'d be very suprised if the game looks this clean.
-
Sega GT2002 got good scores!
EGM 8.3 out of 10
OXM 9.1 out of 10
Play Magazine 4 out of 5
Found this also:
EGM reviewed Sega GT 2002 and this is what they said about the gameplay:
Che "Sega GT\'s gameplay sucks you into the zone and keeps you there." 8.0
Greg: "Sega GT is one sweet game" 8.5
Jonathan: "SGT is the game you have to buy if you\'re starving for a new Gran Turismo" 8.5
"if you\'re only expecting a Gran Turismo wannabe on the Xbox, you\'re going to be pleasantly surprised."
Can\'t wait! :D
-
Wow, they made it sound like it was better than GT3. Howcome it just got an 8.3?
-
Play magazine did say it\'s the second best looking racing game ever (1st is Quantum Redshift).
I suspect it got down graded because it\'s not GT3, and it doesn\'t do anything more than GT3 does.

Are you being payed by M$ to say these things?
Well anyway..SGT on DC bored me to death. It was simply dull, slow and also pretty ugly. This game has the same bland look as its predecessor did for me. The cars look nice, but the backgrounds still look like they are made out of cardboard
-
Sega GT2k2: Avg Ratio: 85%
Gran Turismo 3: Avg Ratio: 94%
It can still be a good game though. But not upto GT3s standards ;)

 Nah, it\'s just for the trolls. ;)
-
Mircosoft give you troll dolls to do all this?
I thought that fad went out years ago
Anyways.. Soul Reaver, where did you get that the article made it sound better than GT3? It made it sound quite a bit lower than that standard from where I sit.. still sounds fun tho :) Does it have the kickass Rally mode that\'s in GT3?
-
IGN gave it an 8.8. They said it has better graphics and physics but only 120 cars and fewer tracks. It\'s a copy of GT3, no more, and a little less.
-
Yes, There is a rally mode.
IGN.com gave Sega GT2002 8.8!

Ummm pstwo, that\'s an insider review. You cant do that.
