Cop Killed by Suspect With Gun Hidden Between Her Buttocks

 Police are expected to rethink searches they perform on suspects after a woman managed to hide a gun up her backside. At the moment police search the waistband, pockets and sometimes the crotch depending on the type of clothing worn by the suspect.  
 Martha Donald, 60, was searched and then requested to go to the toilet. In the toilet Donald retrieved the weapon and: "came out and initiated the shooting" which killed Melissa Schmidt, 35, a police officer for 6 years.  
 "Someway, somehow, the gun was missed," said a police spokesman "(Weapons) would be easy enough to conceal, so we may want to relook at our search policy." Police say what happened will be on their minds now when they answer a call involving weapons.

Why dont they just use portable metal detecors (sp?) like at airports? I\'m sure it couldnt bee too expensive to save hundreds of lifes.
