Title: Choice of Directors
Post by: Rya on August 11, 2002, 12:21:59 AM
Ok, you or someone wrote a script about your life (or if you wanted...you wrote a screenplay).  Who would you have direct it and why?

It would have to be Speilberg.  He has variety and imagination that can get across the lightheartedness of my life.

I picked M. Night. He has a great style. Spielberg... well, he\'s great too. Perhaps a bit bloated, I dunno.

If I couldn\'t have M. Night, I\'d pick Ridley Scott.

I\'d have to pick David Lynch. Honestly, the directors prechosen for this poll suck. George Lucas is not a good director. He may be a good producer and editor, but he is a terrible director and writer. For god sakes, before Starwars episode I, he hadn\'t directed a movie in 22 years. With American Graffiti (crappy) THX-1138 (Crappy) Star Wars (good with terrible writing) and episodes 1 and 2, I would not put him up top with great directors.

basicly what you see in a movie on the screen is what the director saw in his head when he read the scriptso he has to figure out how to get his mental image onto film
theres so much more to it but thats about as simple as i can make it

Why are you people picking corpses like Stanley Kubrick or Alfred Hitchcock?  Might make for a slow film!

I\'d pick Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire, Paris Texas, Buena Vista Social Club, etc.)
